I was so close to the base, but then he got in the way. Let me tell you how it all happened. Me and Alice were driving down a road, I knew that we might start attracting attention if we stayed on the four wheeler. “Should we ditch this thing and get some bikes at the nearest Hardware store?” I said as I turned into Home-Depo. “No, I think we should stay with this.” She said. I nodded, “Well we need guns and bullets. I only have my one gun and ten bullets.” I said taking it out. She nodded, “So, more guns for you and a new jacket for me?” she said. I blinked ad smirked, “What, no. you get a gun, also some knifes.” I mumbled as I walked in, gun at ready. I pushed open the door with my foot, and walked in slowly. I looked around and saw nothing. I put my gun down and motioned for Alice to follow. She came in, shutting the door. “Wow, I’m surprised how fast people got out of here.” Alice said. The place looked like it was never touched. I nodded, “Yeah, same.” I walked deeper into the place, I turned to corner and a hand was slapped over my mouth and I was pulled into a room. When they let go I screamed as loud as I could. “ALICE!” that was all I could say before a gag was wrapped around my mouth. “Unless you won’t to live I say you be quite, there is a Zombie walking around the store and I haven’t found it.” Said a male voice. “That’s my friend.” I said, he came into view, he was cute I could give him that. He had black army cut hair and bright gray eyes. He was tall and looked about 17. “What?” he asked taking off the gag. “That’s my friend Alice.” I said annoyed. “THERE’S ANOTHER ONE!?” he yelled and before I could say anything he was gone. “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN!?” I yelled after him.
After a while he came in with Alice. She was shaking and had a huge handful of guns and bullets. She was clutching them like they were her life-which they probably were- and her hair was messed up. “I kill her.” She said as the guy dragged her in. “This your friend?” he snapped. I nodded, “Yeah, that’s her.” I stood up and took the things from Alice and sat them down. “Who did you kill?” I asked, knowing it was a Zombie. “She didn’t had arms!” she wailed. “It was the Zombie I was talking about. Thanks to that gun shot, were gonna get some more.” He said angrily. “No, we won’t. There isn’t any in sight.” I said. He started to laugh, which started to turn into an insane laugh. “There isn’t any . . . WRONG!” He yelled, making us jump. “THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! WHEN YOU THINK THEIR GONE, THEIR NOT! ZOMBIES CAN SMELL ANYTHING, HEAR ANYTHING AND EAT ANYTHING!” He yelled. He sat down. “Okay, you need to get out of here first of all, second, we just came for guns, bullets and Knifes.” I said. “What’s your name anyway?” Alice said. “Sam, Sam Dare.” He said. “The knifes are in row five.” He said.
I ran down the row, Alice and Sam where getting gas, and finding more ammo, I was mostly hoping they would also find food. Even though this place was full of candy, bread and Peanut Butter would be nice. I grabbed all sort of knifes, ranging from kitchen knives, hunting knifes, and butcher knives. “Marcie!” Sam yelled, turning the corner. He smiled at me and Alice was right at his heels. “Here, Alice gets two kitchen, one butcher, and a dagger. Sam can have three butcher, two hunting blades, and a kitchen. I’ll have the rest of the hunting knifes and this butcher one.” I handed them out and sighed. “Well we ready to go?” I asked. “Wait, we found matches, candles, and some dynamite.” He said waving three sticks of it. My eyes widened, “When did Home-Depo have dynamite?” I said. Sam shrugged and tossed one to me. “Alright, let’s go.” I said and grabbed my gun. I had one other one, but Sam got the most. He said he was better aim then knifes. As we walked I noticed swords. “Wait, everyone gets one of those.” I said walking over to the swords. They were heavier than I expected, but I was able to hold one of the smaller ones. Sam had a huge one with a dragon on the handle, and Alice, had a small-almost dagger like- sword. I walked out, and had my gun ready, nothing was around. I walked to the four-wheeler, and realized, the wheeler wasn’t big enough. “Oh no.” I said looking at Sam. “Um, do you have another Four-wheeler?”
We were out of there once we found one of those four seated Four-wheeler thing and was driving towards Vegas. “Hey, how did you two meet?” Sam yelled over the rushing wind. “JC Penny store.” I yelled back. He laughed, “So you’re miss perfect are you?” he yelled at Alice. Her ears turned red and looked away, a slight smile on her lips. “I was too!” I yelled, “You think I was expecting this!” I yelled. He laughed and looked at the road. We drove quietly for about another four hours. We didn’t see any Zombies so far, but I was waiting to Jinx’s myself. I haven’t seen any, which was weird. We should have crashed into hundreds. Then, we heard gun shots. My head snapped to the side and that’s when I saw the Military base, and a car that looked like a Limo with two set of seats. It drove with no sound and was also heading right for the base. The top of the limo windows were opened and familiar faces were shooting some Zombies. Then, I looked at Alice. She won’t make it if we keep going. I swerved and headed right for the base, Sam climbed up and started to shot some of the Zombies as we passed, “SAM, GET DOWN!” Alice yelled, she was staring at him with wide eyes. “I’ll be-“he fell right off the four-wheeler thing. “SAM YOU IDIOT!” I yelled, he was on his feet and running, I slowed down and stopped right in front of the base, threw Alice out, and headed right for the crowd of Zombies. I grabbed Sam, ramped off some board, and drove for the heart of the city. I know it was stupid but it was the only way. “Oh my gosh, you should of left me.” Sam said, watching as the Zombies forgot about us and headed for the base. I couldn’t think right, I needed to sleep. “Let’s just get on top of a roof, I need some sleep.” I sighed, and looked ahead.
We landed on top of the building as I sighed angrily. My head was spinning, and my heart was in my throat. We drove right passed a group of Zombies, they heard us and were hanging around our ride, waiting for us. I heard a scream echo through the quite city, Sam looked up and walked to the edge. “Damn it.” He whispered as he gazed at a spot. I joined him and watched Zombies devourer a mom and two twin girls. “This is disgusting.” I said, watching with horror. Sam just nodded, “It’s what happens.” He sighed, “A sickness that got out of hand.” My throat tightened, and I sucked in a sharp breath. “Let’s sleep. Or at least eat something.” I pulled away and sat down by our backpacks. My eyes were heavy, I haven’t slept for three days and haven’t eaten anything. I opened the backpack and looked in. Alice didn’t eat much and I haven’t attend anything, I grabbed a bag of chips and opened them, not bothering to look at what flavor it was. “Ew, what the hell are these?” I say as I look at the front. “Salt and Vinegar chips. Disgusting.” I threw them over the side of the building. There was a clatter, and some groans, then silence. I glanced down and saw five or six Zombies hanging around. “We need to head to the Military base if we want to live.” Sam said joining me. I nodded, and pulled out another bag of chips. Sea Slat and cooked Garlic. I opened it and popped one in my mouth. “They good?” Sam asked. I held the bag to him and snapped one in half. “I think I should sleep. You take first watch.” I said and laid my head on my backpack and closed my eyes. “Watch for what?” he mumbled before I fell asleep.
Dear Kendrick
I was close to a military base. But I didn’t get there. I dropped off my friend Alice. Keep an eye on her, she’s a tricky one. I saw the Limo car thing and saw you, I hope you made it safely.
Marcie
