CHAPTER 12

╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝

As quickly as the red appeared it had disappeared, now buried within a sea of ebony. But Jisung knew what he saw:  piercing vermilion eyes staring at him.

"Is something the matter, Prince?" The servant questioned, voice dripping in innocence. Taking a brief glance at the others that sat around the grand table, Jisung decided this was not the time or place.

"N-no... Just some water, please" Internally cursing himself for stuttering, he looked away from those feline-like eyes. He looked towards Felix and Jeongin, noting the servants who stood next them seemed to carry the same air; a dark and ominous aura. And judging from their expressions and stiff posture, they seemed to notice as well.

Jisung watched as his water cup filled up, not daring to take his eyes off of the pale hand.

Dinner seemed to drag on for hours. The mysterious servants disappeared as quickly as they had arrived, so it was difficult to form some kind of solid conclusion about them.

Nearly tripping himself, Jisung was quick to excuse himself from the table. The other princes followed behind him, the sound of their shoes echoing off of the large hallways. Swinging into his bedroom, the prince of Levanter watched as the other princes filled the room before closing the large white door.

"Okay, I couldn't be the only one who felt that. Something is off about those servants"

Felix scoffed. "Undoubtedly, but I couldn't be able to tell you what. All I know was-"

"They are definitely not human" Jeongin finished, nervously fiddling with his ring.

"We need to tell my fa- The king then" Jisung spoke quickly, turning to open the doors of his bedroom. "No!" The blonde called out, holding onto the prince's wrist, halting him in place.

"What do you mean no? This puts the royal family at stake, the entire city of Levanter may be in danger!"

"But that also puts us at risk! Jisung, please. What... What if this was summoned by us..?  What will we say when they ask us how we know? Yeah! We are just casual mages who practice magic even though it is forbidden?"

A heavy sigh passes through the brunette as his grip upon the golden handle loosened before his hand fell back against his side. "What should we do now?"

"Well, we need a better plan than just running up to the king and potentially exposing ourselves!"

"But we don't even know what we are dealing with!" Jeongin said in a quiet tone, but the other princes heard him. "How are we suppose to figure out a plan when we have no clue just who or what exactly those servants are"

"How about vampires?" A new voice suggested.

The room turns cold as three dark silhouettes enter the room, the sound of the door closing behind them feeling like a judge's gavel slamming down; trapping them, condemning them.
