12. 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘐𝘯 𝘔𝘺 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵

    ⁂ 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕 ⁂

Cameron, befuddled staring at Jasmine in front him, greeted her and stood awkwardly in the doorway.

"Oh, sorry come in." He stepped out of the way, Jasmine pursing her lips and smiling as she was  walking in.

"So uh," Cameron shut the front door and followed Jasmine to the kitchen. "What are you doing here?"

"Well... I came to uh, confess something." Jasmine knew, deep down, she was doing the wrong thing.
"Who in their right mind would do this? Stop it Jasmine!" She internally fought with herself.

"You know... I really like you Cameron, and I was wondering if you would like to go to movies?" Jasmine's voice was innocent as she tried persuading him to agree.

"Wait. You are asking me out?" He motioned his hands to Jasmine then pointed to his chest.

She nodded her head smiling though she was beginning to feel embarrassed thinking he would reject her.

"Yeah I would love to." He chuckled. Jasmine let out a silent relived sigh and turn back to Cameron.

"I... didn't see you at school."

"Oh yeah I'm a drop out..." Cameron's knees bounced up and down.

He was overjoyed at the fact that he was going on a date with Jasmine. He knew she felt something for him, he was so very certain of it.

"You know... there's this movie I really wanted to watch today. You want to go now?" His hands were stuffed into his jean pockets.

"Of course." Cheekily smiling, Jasmine got up and looped her arm with his. They walked to the movie theater, both of them thinking of different things.

Mistake. Jasmine held back tears as she walked along with Cameron, her new boyfriend. Is this what she really wanted? Of course not. But she needed to, for the sake of her and Benny's relationship.

On Cameron's mind was his plan, and what the next step is and how Jasmine and him will last forever...
Soulmates. Marriage. Their whole lives, no Benny in the way now that Jasmine is his.

Benny. He slowly walked home with Bertram and Denunez. They went on and on about how cool Jasmine was and how much fun the party will be. But all Benny had on his mind was embarrassment, joy and anxiety. He was going to tell Jasmine that he felt the same way. That they could work something out.

"Benny? What's wrong?" Denunez slapped his arm causing Benny to look over.
"Nothings wrong. I'm just excited for the party." He shrugged. Denunez smiles and waved goodbye as the boys passed his house.

"What's actually wrong?" Bertram asked.
"Look I'm just tired it's been a long day. You know how the first day of school goes." Benny patted Bertram's back as he nodded and went into his home leaving Benny to walk the rest of the way alone.

He walked up to his house and opened the door to smell something delicious. "Ma?" Benny shut the door walking into the kitchen.

"Hey Benny." Luz had an apron on while making dinner.
"Hi," he smiled at his delightful mother and zoned out, again thinking of Jasmine.

"What's wrong?" Luz places her hands on her hips and stared Benny down knowing that he'll tell her anything just by giving him that stare.

"Jasmine." He exhaled after a moment of silence.
Luz hummed and nodded turning back to her occupation for the moment.

"But I'd rather not tell you this time, Ma."
Benny kisses his mom's cheek and went to his room.
