Time flies and before I knew it I had fallen into a routine. Morning chores around the den, food at the Pack House, training with Dad, running patrol, training with the younglings and pups, dinner, evening chores, bed. But Spring had sprung and I was ready to change it up a bit.

"Come on, Please", Clar stood in front of me as I begged for her to back up my plan to have a full pack gathering.

"He's yer Da", she said walking around me. "Do ya really think he'd tell ya no?"

"No, but yer moral support would be greatly appreciated", I tell her while smiling in a pleading manner.

"No. Take Meg or Neilina or better yet Heather", she says. Then she abruptly stops and I walk into the back of her, spinning around she places her hands on her hips, "You already asked them, didn't ya"?

"Yeah, I have been working my way around the pack asking for backup but everybody gives me the same answer. 'We like the idea but go ask yerself.' UGH, why will no one go with me?" I flop down on the path and pout.

"Yer an adult now not a pup. Act like it." Clar tells me, stepping around me and moving on with her life.

Instead of moving on I collapse back on the ground and stare at the canopy. "Are you hurt?"

Moving my eyes away from the treetops I realize I am no longer alone. "Fenian, just the male I wanted to talk to." This is who I should have started with. Jumping up and brushing myself off. "Come with me, we can talk as we walk." I grab his arm just in case.

"Uh, you feelin' well?" He asks, trying to shake me off.

"Fine, fine. So ya know how spring is here and we all are in a bit of a rut with winter?" I begin my spiel.

"Yeah, that's why I was coming to get ya", he says talking over me, "The Alpha wants ya to plan a gathering with a big cookout and whatever foods ya can find and music. Gotta have music. Stuff for the pups too."

I had dropped his arm and he had continued to walk talking to himself as I had rooted myself in the path, "What"?

"Are you sure yer feelin' fine? Yer actin' awful odd." Fenian says with a confused look but that is quickly forgotten as he gets back on topic. "Can you ask Sorcha to make that bread with the herbs in it, OH Goddess, I love that..." He continues to ramble on as we begin walking again toward the Pack House.

Getting myself together I remember to ask, "When does he want to have this gathering"?

"Two days work for you?" My jaw drops as he shrugs and wanders off still talking about Sorcha's bread.

"Two days, two days he thinks that a full pack gathering can be thrown together in.... Holy", with that last word I raced off to see Cook.

Turns out that they all had been pulling my leg. They had thought it was a good idea when I brought it up the first time last week and had been secretly working on it all that time. I was not impressed with their little joke. Since they had it all moving along smoothly I took myself off to see the pups, skipping today's training with Dad. Walking into the Pack House I hollered, "Who wants to play war". The sound of feet hitting the floor as pups and younglings rushed to me, echoed through the den. War had become a great training tool that everyone loved. It took mere seconds for the entire group to assemble before me.

"Alright, here's the deal. We are going out to my den, which is base. Kyle, you will choose your team, Ang, you will choose your's; let's walk." Several of the pups had rushed out before us to gather anyone who they thought would play, so I set a slow pace to allow for everyone to get to the base, several wolves waiting for us, "Don't you have something to do", I ask Neil who stands in the front of this band of unmated wolves.
