"Tim yer in charge."

"Aye."

I took myself far into the territory near to the ledge where my Spirit walk had taken place. Most of it I had walked, it was only hunger that drove me to allow my wolf out. It was just for eating after she finished filling our belly she was shunted back and I again was in charge. I could feel her nudge our link, she didn't understand why I was being this way. We were out on the open range, why were we not running and hunting? Why had we left our pack? Why were we out here alone?

"I feel as if you betrayed me?" I tell her as I settle into a cross-legged sitting position. I could feel her confusion. "You know what a shifter is with one sniff or on sight or whatever yet you didn't feel the need to tell me. What else do I not know about you?" She was getting the picture of how deeply I felt her distrust. She exploded in my mind, "No! This is wrong. I did not know that you didn't know. I have been with you for so long, you and I were merged earlier than most. The Goddess knew that our path would be hard so she allowed us to be trained together, yes I am older but not always wiser. I have always pushed information to you that I thought you should know, I had not realized that I was doing it. It was natural. I thought you could access all of me as I do you, but you have blocked that. A part of you thinks of me as a separate being."

I was now the one confused. How could this be I knew that my wolf was a part of me, she was part of my soul. How could I be blocking her?

"You're not blocking me, you're blocking you."

What? Could she be right? Was I stopping myself from merging fully with my wolf? My mind raced and my head began to throb my entire body strummed with pain, then darkness.

"Where am I", not in my territory? The land here was full of huge trees too big for my arms to wrap around, most had needles instead of leaves. The air was cooler and the ground damp, picking myself up I wondered what realm I had been dropped into. "Any clue where we are?" There was only silence, as I searched our link I found a wall. When I pressed myself to it, I could hear her scratching and clawing to get to me. Instead of focusing on the wall, I knew I needed to focus on my surroundings so I began to climb a tree. Get above the danger.

"Mate, I know you are here. Come out. Come out. So we can play." A Russian voice called into the woods.

I froze in my perch, I still couldn't speak to my wolf but she was now able to send me her feelings. She was scared.

"Come let us meet and we will get this ugly business over with. You submit and all will be good."

I could feel her pushing calm and loving feelings toward me. I relaxed into them and felt as if I were safe, suddenly the male below was not so scary.

"Mate I don't have time for games. It is time I took my place as Alpha. You wouldn't want me to be alone? It is time you took charge of the females they need their mother." His tone no longer light and cajoling it had become dark and harsh. "You would leave your mate alone for your selfish needs. I am your Alpha. You will do as I say."

The bond was warming as I relied on her to calm me, then suddenly the wall fell and I was whole. It felt as if pieces of my soul had knitted together. How had I not known they were missing or loose? "My mate will wait until the Goddess deems it the right time for us to meet," I say in the common tongue.

"Your Goddess is dead. Lycaon is God here." He is looking around and sniffing in hopes of locating me.

"My Goddess yet lives and her mate will not overshadow her." I am now jumping from tree to tree keeping him in my sight.

"You can not run from me. I will catch you and when I do you will submit." He commands me. I can feel his wolf beginning to rise. My wolf can feel him pushing at the mate bond trying to locate us.
