Chapter Nine

It has been 3 groons (months) since the Sparklings were born and Redempt was staying with the growing family until they could locate her Creators. Right now, Redempt was playing with Smokescreen while Firestorm burped Silverdust.

"Where am I? Where am I?" the femme teased as she hid her optics behind her servos.

She opened her servos like a door, "here I am!"

Little Smokescreen squealed in laughter and reached for her; Redempt smiled softly and picked the young Grounder up before playing Seeker (AN: Sort-a-like Airplane but with Cybertronians). Firestorm walked over, carrying a recharging Silverdust, and chuckled at the sight of Smokescreen clinging onto Redempt's wings and her trying to get him off as gently as possible.

Smokescreen lifted his helm and squeeled when he caught sight of his Carrier. The mechling left go of the wings and held his tiny hands out to the mech. The young Creator smiled and shifted Silverdust before gently taking Smokescreen.

"Smokescreen, what have I told you about grabbing the wings?" the mech gently scolded.

Smokescreen just smiled innocently and curled up against his mother's chassis. Firestorm sighed and rocked both the Sparklings gently. Redempt watched with a grin and she began walking away.
"Good luck with them Fire'!"

Nightshade mumbled and rolled onto his side, his optic protectors (eyelids) scrunched up as he mumbled.

"Again"

8-year-old Nightshade lunged at his Sire trying to get a hit in, only to be pinned to the ground with an ion cannon to his face.

"Dead, again" Megatronous ordered.

Nightshade panted and slowly stood up, he activated his arm-saber (AN: the sword inside his arm, Megsy and Octapus has one) before lunging at his mentor and once again ended up flat on his back.

"You must examine your enemies' tactics before jumping in Nightshade" the mech explained, helping his Creation up, "try again"

Nightshade waited this time and watched as his Sire charged at him, he dodged the attacks and blocked a few times before countering with his moves. He lasted about four klicks (minutes) before getting taken down.

"Much better" Megyntron praised, "now practice your footing"

The mech lunged and Nightshade stumbled back, trying to focus on his footing and dodging the attacks at the same time. He epically failed...

Megatron sighed and spoke as he backed off, "again, this time follow your instincts"

Nightshade stood and got into a battle stance. They fought and Nightshade lasted much longer before getting distracted by Firestorm when he walked in. His Sire punched the Gladiator-in-training in the jaw, sending him to the ground.

"Nightshade! Are you alright?!" Firestorm asked as he raced over to his brother's side and checked on him.

The older twin nodded as he sat up, "I'm fine Fire', where're the twins?"

"Redempt is watching them, taking them to the park and whatnot"

"Ah" Nightshade nodded in understanding, "their second Carrier has them, gotcha"

"Nightshade!" Firestorm complained.

"What? It's true ain't it?" the older asked cassually.

"So, what if it's true!?" the younger glared, "you can't just say stuff like that!"

"Why not?"

"It isn't nice nor is it safe!" Firestorm snapped, fear flickering through their strong bond.

Nightshade frowned and hugged his brother, "they won't get you again Fire' I promise, I'll never let anything bad happen to you again"

...

Energon splattered across Nightshades frozen form. A femme looked at him with crazed green/purple optics, crushing the important device in her servo. Nightshade collapsed to his knee-bolts and stared in horror at his brothers leaking form. A large gaping wound where his T-Cog was supposed to be. His armour was cracked in multiple areas, showing black protoform and energon.

"NOOO!"

Nightshade gasped as he snapped awake, his cooling-fans were active, and his optics were blown wide. He shivered and quickly left the room.

He entered the Main Area of the Silo and was surprised to see the Autobot Medic still up. He glanced over, blue optics holding exhaustion before returning his gaze to the computer.

"If you want to talk about it, I'm always here to listen" the medic's proposal surprised to Decepticon, but not as much as the next thing out of his intake, "Nightshade"
