Chapter 7

Athena's POV

"Hi." Napatingin ako sa lalaking lumapit sakin. I think he's a senior base sa red patch sa damit niya. 'Yon kasi ang ibinigay sa amin upang ma separate ang juniors at senior. "Yes?" Sagot ko.

"Umm. I'm Klinton. Klint for short, a senior from class b." Pakilala niya. Gwapo siya, makinis at maamo ang kanyang mukha. Malumanay din siyang mag salita. Ngumiti naman ako sa kanya. "I'm Ath—"

"No need to introduce yourself. I already know you. You're Athena right?" I shyly nod and smile at him. Napalinga-linga ako sa gilid at dance floor dahil hindi parin sila bumabalik. "Can I invite you to the dance floor?" Napatingin naman ako kay Klint. "Ahh." Hindi ko alam kung tatanggapin ko ba ang alok niya dahil lahat ng nag-aalok sakin ay tinanggihan ko.

"Please." He look so angelic when he said that. Well, wala namang mawawala sakin kung susubukan ko. This will be my first dance of the night and maybe the last. "Sure."

Ngumiti siya sa akin at nilahad ang kanyang kamay, nakangiting tinanggap ko naman iyon. Hinila niya ako malapit sa gitna ang dance floor. Humarap ako sa kanya; kinuha niya ang kamay ko and place it to his shoulder while his left hand traces down to my waist. He grab my right hand and place it on his palm.

He takes his left foot back to which I follow then another step until we create a rhythmic move that matches the song. I can barely look at his face because I am too shy. "Hey, look at me." He said then he holds my chin and lifts my face. I awkwardly smiled at him. "You're so beautiful tonight." He complements. "Thank you."

A few minutes had pass but we are still dancing until I saw Ethan approaching us. "Bro, can I have this dance?" He tap's Klint shoulder. Napatingin naman ako kay Klint and he was sulking a lil' bit. "Ahh sure." Tumingin naman siya sakin. "Thanks for tonight." I nod and smiled at him.

After he left, Ethan grab my waist and my hands. Just like what Klint and I do, Ethan takes the lead and sway me side to side. After some time, inaya ko na siyang umupo dahil medyo sumasakit na ang paa ko. "Yahh! Who's the cute guy na nakasayaw mo kanina?" I give Andrea a confused look. "Who?" I mouthed.

"He guy you were dancing with before Ethan. Duh!" She rolled her eyes.

"Ohh. That was Klinton, a senior from class b." I answered.

Nagkukwentuhan kami ng biglang inagaw ng MC ang atensyon namin. I checked my phone and it's already 9pm, I don't know kung kailan matatapos ang party na'to but I enjoyed it a lot. "Hello students! Now, I am announcing the winners for the earlier performances before we choice our King and Queen of the Night. Are you ready?"

"YESSSSSS!"

"The second runner up will he receiving a trophy and donation money. Those money will be given for their chosen charity. Now, the second runner up...."

The 2nd and 1st runner up was announced and it was from junior class A and senior class C. Umaasa akong mananalo kami but not too much ayukong ma disappoint. "OMG! Athena.. the real winner nalang talaga ang inaantay!" Sabrina exclaimed. They were so excited samatalang ako kinakabahan. Ethan maybe notice my hands were trembling that's why he tap my shoulders. "Relax."

"The winner and the best performance goes to...".

"SENIOR CLASS A!" Nalaglag ang balikat ko.

All of them look at me. They were talking but I can't hear them, my heart still beating fast. "Athena!" Nag balik ang diwa ko when Andrea touch my face. "What happened to you?" She asked worriedly but I shake my head.
