When Forth arrived home, the light inside was on so he assumed that someone is still up. Leaving his car to the helper's care, he went inside, peeking who is in the living room.
Meanwhile, hearing the main door opened, Beam startled on his seat he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be sleeping. He was hoping Forth will go with the flow or he'll be doomed for teasing the other too much. Not too long, he heard footsteps getting louder and closer to his place.
'Bee, were you waiting for me?' Forth whispered to himself, oblivious to Beam's play.
Beam felt his face warming at the endearment but did not mind. He can't get caught just because he was surprised. His misery worsens when he felt a pair of strong arms slipped under his body and lifted him up. He did not dare to open his eyes.
Forth was thankful enough that he was working out though Beam was paper light and he was able to carry the small guy to his room, effortlessly.
He gently deposited Beam on the bed and tucked him under the duvet cover.
Beam felt the bed dipped, Forth's hand caressing his hair. It was oddly pleasing and nice.
'I missed you, Bee. I thought I lost you forever.' Forth whispered, leaning towards the younger's ears. Then, Beam felt something soft and warm touched his forehead.
Forth stood up with a faint smile pasted on his face.
Hearing the room's door shut, Beam sighed and did not think about opening his eyes instead he just begins to sleep.
It was the first time he felt comfortable sleeping on the bed.
The next day, Beam left home early, even before Forth woke up. It's not that he was avoiding being in a one-sided situation with Forth but he wanted to make up for his absences these past days. He prepared breakfast for the whole family then contended with the driver who insisted on driving him to the café.
He found his way to the backdoor of his workplace. Beam started doing his job by preparing the ingredients and necessities for baking. He chose to do his specialty which is the same as the cake he baked on his birthday and he also added brownies and simple delicacies.
Grandma arrived an hour before the time of opening. She smiled at Beam. The elder lady really grew fond of the boy.
"Beamie, do you have something to tell me?" She asked, waiting expectantly for Beam's response.
"I found my family." He said while smiling, his eyes are shining. His happiness was so obvious.
He shared everything with Grandma who was listening intently to Beam's story. A streak of gratefulness and joy replenished her chest, she is genuinely happy for the boy.
Lunchtime came and Beam was taking his break when his phone started vibrating inside his pocket. He fished for it inside his pocket before checking who made the call,
It was Forth, "Hey, Bee... ehem... I'm on there way there. Your exam was moved today because Friday will be the University's sport's day. I'll pick you up, now. Bye~~~" Before, Beam could even react the call ended. He doubted that the other guy must be playing tricks on him but no this is a serious matter.
He went to inform Grandma who was behind the counter at the moment.
"Grandma, P' just called my exam was moved today. I didn't even get to study a single thing." Beam whined to his grandmother making the lady sheepishly smile at him.
"Dear, I'm sure you'll pass. By the way, how will you get there?" The woman asked worried that the lad may have decided to again, walk his way to college.
"P'Forth will be picking me up. He said he's on his way here, now." Beam managed to utter despite being very nervous.
The chimes on the café's door indicate that someone arrived.
The newcomer was in black pants and a black shirt under his midnight blue short sleeve blazer.
"You ready, Beam?"
