FORTH'S POV
The talk I had with Joss was suprisingly calm. I didn't expect it to end well, without the yelling and mocking at each others' faces. Beam was so lively the wholetime we were with those two. I noticed he was more of a son to the couple than a brother. They treated him, fondly. I was watching him, making fun of Luke then gets reprimanded by Joss, afterwards. Seriously, they looked like a family, being Beam their troublemaker son.
Kitten was placed on the floor, obviously he isn't fond of meeting new people. I really wonder how Beam tamed him that fast when I got bitten the moment I tried to stroke his fur.
Last night, I promised Bee that I'm walking to his first class tomorrow. He even made me do the pinky swear before sinking under the thick blanket and snuggling close.
Without realizing it, morning rolled in a blink. I'm not really a morning person so he woke up before I did. I wondered why and decided to check on the wall clock, I was literally gaping. It's already an hour passed my first class which simply mean, Bee is also late with his. He was already dressed in his uniform, a white long sleeves, dark green and slacks. Bee looks so handsome minus the scowl.
"I'm sorry, Bee, I forg---" I was cut off by a sudden beep from his phone and upon reading it he stared at me with so much disappointment.
"I'm going..." He stood up, grabbed his bag and scurriedly left me feeling miserable.
BEAM'S POV
I can't help but feel disappointed at P'Forth. How can a person forget a promise? Not to mention, it was just made last night. I wiped a lone tear that fell from my eyes.
I ran down the lobby and saw P'Joss waiting at the entrance with a spare helmet on his hand. I walked as fast as I could towards him and he handed me the helmet before climbing on his bike.
After few minutes, we arrived at the main gate. I thank P'Joss before running inside the university. I ran through the registrar's office asking for my schedule, then I hurriedly sprinted towards the building where my second subject is by following the map given to me. I scanned the doors looking for the room number when I saw Kit. I fix myself before knocking.
I can feel my hands tremble the moment their heads turned to face me.
"Well, you're too early for tomorrow's lecture." The professor started and I heard all except Kit laughed.
I felt more nervous than I was. I started getting dizzy but I didn't mind.
"Introduce yourself and go find yourself a seat at the back because I don't want see an irresponsible lad like you..." She continued as I slowly walked to the center.
"G-good M-morning, I-I'm Beam Bara---"
"That's enough you're taking too much time introducing yourself." I can't help but feel even more embarassed, I felt like exploding with all this emotions inside my chest, right now.
I roamed my eyes around the room and found a seat at the back of the room where no one seems to have interest with because everyone wanted to listen. I can everyone whispering and throwing glances at me. It was fine by me, I love sitting next to the window. I slumped at the chair hugging my bag when I felt someone staring at me and I met Kit's gaze, he mouthed sorry as he was sitting in front to which I responded with a faint smile.
"Eyes here people!"
Just then the bell blasted off, I sighed thinking I really had too much negative first impression from everyone. I saw Kit dashing towards me while I just stayed on my seat, waiting for everyone to leave the room so I could be alone.
"Hey, wanna get something to eat?" I shook my head, after earlier's humiliation I don't think I have the appetite to eat. I rest my head on my arms, hiding my face. I feel so stressed out. I never wanted to please anybody but I also don't want to be people's laughing stock. A good first impression is enough but it all turned to ashes because I chose to stick to someone's promise.
According to my schedule, it's an hour break so everyone get to rest or hangout wherever they want. I heard Kit sighed, he tapped my shoulder.
"I'll be back. I'll get one for you..." I heard him walking out of the room, closing the door behind him. I'm grateful the Kit that somewhat understood and he didn't ask further.
When I was all alone, I let my tears stream down my face. I never felt this way before. I don't what hurts me more, is it P'Forth's broken promise or the humiliation I was in earlier.
I heard the door opened but didn't bother to look up. I can hear footsteps nearing and it stop beside me.
"Bee..."
FORTH'S POV
I saw him stiffened when I called him by endearment. He lifted his head but refused to meet my eyes as he stared outside the windows. His eyes were puffy, his cheeks are rosy and his nose is red. I pulled out a handkerchief from my pocket and reach out to him to wipe his face which was wet with tears but he moved away.
"Bee, I'm re---"
The door opened and Kit went in with Mingkwan whose hands are full of snacks.
"Beamie, I brought you some snacks..." Kit announced while bouncing towards Beam, walking passed me like he didn't see me.
"P'Forth..." Ming called.
"Can we talk? Outside..." He uttered and went out, I followed after sparing Bee a glance only to see Kit throwing daggers at me.
Mingkwan was leaning on the wall, with a serious face on.
"Kitty told me got late on his very first day. What happened, P'? I thought you're going to walk him to class..." Ming asked, frustratedly. His emotions are raw and I know he is mad.
"I know. I promised him. But, I was tired and I overslept---"
"P', he got humiliated in front of class for being late so stop making promises you can't fulfill. You know how Kit and I cares for Beam, P'. Fix this before Pops fix it for you..."
I was stunned.
"You heard me right, P'. He is in the conference hall now, meeting all the faculty and staff. Classes are cancelled. You have until lunch." He then left me and went back in the classroom.
