Ricky's POV

"I-I don't know what to do, Big Red," I say, running my hands through my hair. It's been a few hours since the cast list was posted, and I still haven't decided whether or not I should go through with this callback . So, I figured Big Red would be able to help me make up my mind. As soon as school was over, I rushed to his place, and, well, here we are.

"You're gonna go to the callbacks, duh," he says, as if it's the most obvious choice.

"The whole reason I auditioned for this musical was to make it up to Nini. To fix all of this—to fix us," I say, running my hands through my hair.

"Right, right. Well, can't you still do that? Like, maybe if you tried to get this part instead of giving up on it because it hasn't gone as planned, it'll show effort. It'll show change. Which is what Nini really wants, isn't it?" Big Red asks, and I'm shocked he came up with something this wise. Not that he isn't capable of it, it's just, well, it's Big Red. There's no other way to explain it.

"I guess you're right. I just wish I could do this callback with her instead," I say. It's not that I don't like Y/n, sure she's great, she's just not Nini.

"You know, maybe you should give it a chance. You're so wrapped up in Nini that you're starting to forget who you are. You were someone without her. You love her, but right now, she's with someone else. You gotta get that in your head, dude. This callback could be good for you," he rants, with a bit of a frustrated tone. I don't blame him. If I were him, I'd be frustrated with myself too. Hell, I already kinda am.

"When did you become so wise?" I question rhetorically, but with the slightest bit of genuine curiosity. He's an awesome dude, but advice normally isn't his strong suit. So, all the advice he's spewing out is, frankly, surprising.

"It comes and goes," he chuckles, turning his attention back to his video game. Ahhh, there's the Big Red I know.

"And before this wiseness or whatever goes away, I have one more thing to say. I'm not going to tell you what to do with this whole...callback thing, but I really think you should do it. If not for yourself, then for Y/n. She needs you for the callback to have a shot at getting the lead role. Besides, she seems like a sweet person, and like she'd be fun to hang with. Just think about it," he advises.

"Wiseness? I don't even think that's a word," I tease, but I know he's right. I have a lot to think about.
