After about an hour of scrolling through my Instagram feed, while I wait for Ricky to wake up, I decide to go out and get some breakfast for him and his father as a 'thank you' for being nice enough to let me stay over last night. I look up the nearest breakfast place and find out that it's about a half hour walk from here—which isn't too bad. It looks nice out anyway.

I head to the washroom and begin getting ready for the day. Since I didn't get to grab any of my things before I left yesterday, Ricky gave me a spare toothbrush, and let me borrow some of his clothes to change into. Yes, they're very baggy on me, but it's better than nothing. The sweatshirt is a navy-blue crew neck and has the words 'make sure your friends are okay' written in a small text on the top left. The sweatpants are just plain navy blue, but they're very comfortable.

When I'm finally ready, it's almost 9:00 am. I make sure to grab my phone on the way out, since the only money I have is in my phone case. Luckily, I always remember to keep a twenty in there, or I'd be screwed. Right before I leave, I write Ricky a small note on a notepad I found on his desk—letting him know I'm picking up breakfast in case he wakes up before I get back—and head out the door. I walk down the stairs cautiously, trying to avoid making any noise. The last thing I want to do is wake anyone up—especially this early. I finally reach the front door and sigh out of relief.

It's a gorgeous morning. The sun is shining, but not enough to blind me. The birds are singing, and there's a nice cold breeze. For me, it's the perfect weather. I'm glad it's a beautiful day out, because I've got a long walk ahead of me.

It's 9:48 am when I get to the café. To my surprise, there aren't as many people here as I thought there would be. Then again, Salt Lake City isn't exactly known for crowds. I take a breath, and open the door, joining the small line of people. It's almost my turn to place an order, and I still have no idea what to get Ricky and his father. I mean, do they like tea? Coffee? If so, what kind of coffee? Dark roast? Premium roast? A latte? Cappuccino?

"Java Jo's, what can I get you?" The cashier asks, smiling.

"Um, what would you recommend?" I ask, indecisively.

"Well, it depends. Drinks or food?"

"Both," I say, nervously—ordering gives me anxiety, especially when I don't know what to get. Weird, I know.

"Okay, foodwise, I'd recommend either a blueberry scone, chocolate chip and banana muffin, or a plain white bagel with cream cheese. For drinks, again, it depends. If you want a hot beverage, I'd recommend our LaVazza Gran Filtro medium roast coffee. For a cold beverage, I'd recommend a frozen Jo—which is our best iced coffee," She says, her face still holding a smile. Although, something tells me she's getting a bit impatient, and I don't blame her. I'd feel the same way if our roles were reversed.

"I-I guess I'll take one of each food you mentioned, as well as two Medium roast coffees, and a Frozen Jo," I stutter. I really need to work on my socializing skills.

"Alright, your total is $16.74," she says, and I hand her the twenty from my phone case.

"Keep the change," I say smiling, when she tries to hand it to me. Despite my indecisiveness, she still remained kind and helpful. "You deserve it."

"Thank you so much. Just wait to your left, and your order should be ready soon."

After a few minutes, a barista hands me my order, and I thank him. I begin to head out the door, but I stop when I see a familiar face.

"Nini?"
