Sebastian?I stared in shock as my eyes fell on my best friend, Sasha's 'loyal' boyfriend of 3 years as he got a lap dance off some random stripper. What the fuck?
I was filled with rage and ready to throw hands, I leapt up out of my seat, about to storm over to him and give him a piece of my mind when Alonzo decided to grab my arm, dragging me back down onto my seat.
"Alonzo, this is serious business, get off."
I tried to wriggle out of his grip but hands hands were just so thick and I was going nowhere. I huffed and wondered how I was going to get his attention. I looked over at the table beside us and grabbed Alonzo's chunky metal lighter."Cosa stai-"
I interrupted Alonzo by throwing his lighter halfway across the room, it hit Sebastian right in the head and I silently thanked my middle school self for playing basketball for so many years. I had impeccable aim.
Sebastian's head whipped around and as his eyes fell on me I watched his face fall. He quickly stood, causing the girl on his lap to fall off onto the floor, but she was a stripper so she played it off pretty well by doing some gymnastic moves on the floor.
I ignored her and reverted my attention to Sebastian who was now speedily walking towards the exit. If only Alonzo wasn't here, I would've run out after him. Speaking of Alonzo he'd run over to where his lighter had hit Sebastian to retrieve it before returning to his seat and giving me an angry sounding Italian earful.
I let out a deep breath, Dante was right. I should've stayed home. I wonder if Sasha knew he was here, but what if they'd broken up while I'd been gone? Surely not, they were our schools golden couple, people who didn't even know them shipped them. Hell, even our teachers melted over how sweet they were together.
It suddenly occurred to me that I was missing from my home and if Sebastian saw me, that meant he could tell my Mom. And she could tell the cops. I wasn't sure how I felt about that thought. I should've been happy, but if Sebastian even did tell the police, which I doubted he would considering he'd also have to tell them he was at a strip club and Sasha would find out for sure, I wasn't sure if I actually wanted Dante arrested. I literally wanted to punch myself for thinking like such an idiot. Someone needed to give me a reality check.
I glanced over at the corridor Dante had taken to get to the sketchy back rooms he was currently in, he was taking forever. It killed me to admit it but he was actually right, I was not having fun right now.
"Hey, Alonzo, can we at least get some drinks?"
Alonzo just stared at me and I remembered that his English was limited. Could Dante have not got me a babysitter who actually understood me?
I felt like I was playing charades as I acted out me drinking with my hands, gaining me a few weird stares from jugdy mob bosses. I'd had too much of a rough 5 minutes to deal with their bullshit so I flipped them off, earning me a hard nudge from Alonzo.
He'd apparently clicked as to what I was getting at though, as he led me over to the bar.
Nobody seemed to care how old I was as I ordered myself a drink. I mean it was a dodgy mafia strip club but still. I sipped on my drink, trying to forget what I'd just seen.
"Alonzo, do you think we could-"
I was cut off by the loud sound of gunshots. I couldn't tell where they were coming from, who they were coming from or what was happening but in a split second Alonzo had pulled out his gun and I was alone. My ears were ringing and all I could hear was panic and chaos. There were men yelling in Italian and girls screaming.
The gunshots continued as I scrambled under the bar, trying to shelter myself. I looked around trying to find the exit. I waited for what felt like an eternity for the gunfire to stop but it just seemed to be intensifying. I had to get out.
I took a deep breath before bucking it for the exit. I ran out into the car park, it was pitch black and there was chaos outside too, I knew it wasn't safe there either so I kept running. I had no clue where I was or where I was headed but I ran faster than I ever have before until I felt like I was literally going to die of oxygen deprivation.
I stopped by a random tree and leaned on it, trying to catch my breath. I was shaking uncontrollably, partially because it was freezing outside and partially because of my near death experience. I had no clue what the fuck had just happened and who had been shot.
I'd seen bodies on the floor as I'd run for the entrance but it was too hectic for me to see who it was. My mind raced straight to dark places as I imagined one of those bodies may have been Dante's. Tears started flowing as I fell onto the ground beside the tree and sobbed. It was dark, I was cold and I was alone.
I didn't know where I was, I had no phone, no way of contacting anybody. Dante could be dead, and I could die of starvation, or someone could come and stab me and nobody would even find out because I was literally in a deserted area. My breathing became shallow as more and more worst case scenario events flooded my head, all leading to one eventual ending - I was going to die out here.
