I stepped out of the taxi, looking up at the place I didn't expect to ever come back to. I glanced at the club I'd been running away from just weeks ago. I stepped inside, there were women everywhere in lingerie and men smoking cigars, some throwing cash, some getting lap dances. The overwhelming smell of alcohol surrounded me. I walked over to the bar, ordering a drink. Not that I needed one right now but everything hurt and I felt like I needed it.I picked up my drink and walked around, I walked over to a couch where a few guys in suits sat before I clumsily fell onto them.
I heard a series of 'woahhhs' as the man at the end of the couch lifted me up, helping me to sit on the edge.'Ciao ciao.' I said, speaking some of the only words of Italian I knew. The men looked dangerous, their faces scarred and their eyes looked like they held evil.
'Ciao, fiore, your name is?' I giggled at his thick accent.
'You sound like Danteee.'
The men seemed to tense a little at that comment as the man took his hand off my back and all the men dropped their sinful gazes.'Ah, scusa signora.' I found it amazing how these rough looking men who likely killed people for a living were showing me such respect all because I mentioned Dante.
'Where is Dante?' I asked them.
One of the men, a shorter guy who was a little chubby and had gelled grey hair motioned towards the other side of the club.
I smiled, taking one of the guys drinks from his hand I stood up to go find Dante.'Merci, gentlemeniosos.'
I laughed out loud at my attempt at Italian as I unsteadily walked in the direction they'd shown me. I watched in awe as the strippers danced on the stage at the front of the club. Wow. I wished I could do all those fancy moves. I watched as one of the girls hung upside down on the pole. Right as I begun walking towards the stage to ask her how she did it I felt someone grab my arm.
'Nicoooo!' I wrapped my arms around him.
'Are you drunk.' He spoke loud over the music.
'No.' I hiccuped. 'Of course not. Where's Dante, this is no fun.'He led me to a room at the back of the club where Dante had been previously and made me sit outside.
'Wait.' He said.
He knocked on the door and waited before entering the room and coming back out, motioning for me to enter. I walked in to find the man himself, sprawled out on a black leather couch with a cigar in his mouth.
He reminded me of a king in his mannerisms and the way he was positioned. He wore a fancy black shirt that was fully unbuttoned so I could see his beautifully tanned and chiselled body beneath. He had a gold chain around his neck and a glass of what looked like whiskey beside him. He was alone in the room and I walked over to him, aiming to sit beside him but ending up practically on his lap.
'Danteee.' I rested my head on his shoulder, I was so glad to see him and I didn't even know why.
'Why are you here, bella?' He sounded somber, and his words were drawled out a little. Was he drunk?
Tears filled my eyes as I remembered why I was here in the first place.'I'm a high school drop out, they found cocaine in my locker, I got kicked out, my life's ruined.'
He lifted my chin so I was looking into his eyes, the dark lighting in the club made his silver eyes literally sparkle and I noticed that his pupils were dilated. He didn't say anything and I found myself staring down at his soft lips. Before I knew it I was kissing him. He kissed me back and pulled back a little, looking at me for a second. I leaned forward again and he kissed me back. His lips were as soft as they'd looked. We kissed for what felt like an eternity.
His head dipped a little and he placed soft kisses along my neck. I gasped a little and his hands slid around my waist and then to the back of my red dress, finding my zipper. I pulled his shirt off him and my hands roamed down to undo the belt of his slacks...

I ran my hand along his gorgeous flat chest. His skin was beautifully tanned and he was sculpted perfectly. My hand went to his thick head of dark, soft hair and I ran my hands through it as I had just a little while ago. I didn't regret it one bit. I watched him as he slept peacefully. Nobody knew where I was, who I was with, and that gave me an odd sense of comfort right now. I just wanted to be here with him in this moment and let the rest of the world crumble around me.
The sun had set and the soft moonlight crept through the window of the room, illuminating his perfect face. I traced the tattoo of the blade under his eye and examined the various other tattoos covering him. He wasn't covered in tattoos, but he had a few. There was a tattoo of some saying written across his chest in Italian. I traced the foreign words with my fingers.
I laid beside him on the huge leather couch, my body flush against his as he slept. The music of the club was distorted in the background and I leaned my head against his chest. I could feel the soft, steady beat of his heart and I smiled. He didn't know what I'd done, that I'd slipped up to Alessandro, and even though I should've been afraid of him finding out, right now, I felt safe in his arms.
Maybe because my father was a little fucked up my taste in men had ended up that way. It was ironic really, I felt safe laying in a criminals arms. I could've been with any other normal guy but I didn't want to. I'd never swooned over the 'hot' guys at our high school like my friends. I could always appreciate their looks, but truthfully I was never attracted to them. I never felt how I felt right now, with Dante.
My little moment of reflection was interrupted when Nico decided to burst into the room. He took in the image of me in just Dante's shirt on the couch, blinking before leaving and closing the door behind him again. Maybe I should've taken that as a sign to get out of here but instead I leaned forward, placing careful kisses along Dante's face. I never wanted him to wake up so I could stay and soak up this little moment without ever having to face my problems, but that wasn't how life worked.
