Even after walking through the city for a couple hours, you still found yourself in awe of the things that you saw.

When the virus swept across humanity several years ago, you had been on vacation in Tokyo, having the time of your life. The city was full of life, bustling at every single nook and cranny, no matter how big or how small. People milled about just about everywhere, and you vividly remembered how beautiful the city looked during the night, ethereal city lights dancing in the moonlight.

Now, you could hardly believe that this was the same place you had visited all those years ago. The streets, which had once buzzed and shook with activity were now dead silent, not a single vehicle in sight. Billboards and signs laid scattered messily across the city floor, and all of those brilliant city lights were extinguished.

Your footsteps were soft against the hard concrete, and as per usual, you stuck towards the shadows in between the buildings, just to prevent any potential unwanted attention. Though the city appeared dead, you knew that survivors had to be lurking around somewhere. After all, this was part of the Tokyo prefecture; if an army were to be anywhere in all of Japan, this seemed to be the most probable place.

You let out a shudder as your mind reminded you of the other possibly when it came to being discovered. After the encounter with the two vampires a few days back, you found yourself incredibly wary, jumping at even the smallest of sounds. You didn't want to imagine the consequences of getting caught by one of those monsters; death would almost certainly be the outcome of another encounter, and the thought terrified you.

Throughout your travels to the city, you had in fact seen several vampires milling about, more than likely looking for people like you who had managed to evade them for so long. However, none of them seemed to give off the same haunting aura that the other two vampires had, and they were always relatively far away from you. During your years with the pack, you had learned how to be stealthy during a hunt; you were thankful beyond belief at just how largely those skills had been helping you on your journey back to humanity. Not once did you ever seem to catch the attention of any of those nearby bloodsuckers.

Now that you reached your destination, you weren't quite sure how to move forward. When you left Aokigahara, you only had one motivation: Go back to humanity, and find Tokyo. Now that you had accomplished such a feat, you didn't know how to proceed. You had been under the impression that the city would still be bustling, which you knew was stupid on your part. Of course it wouldn't; there had been a literal apocalypse only years beforehand, and dangerous creatures roamed about as far as the eye could see.

You let out a tired sigh, wanting nothing more than to just curl up in some abandoned building and take a rest. In spite of these urges, you kept forcing yourself to keep moving forward, hoping that you would find some sign of life the farther into the city you walked.
