The sound of your feet against the floor was almost dead silent, as was your blade as it cut through the air towards its target.

With ease, you slashed your way through the onslaught of enemies before you, not wasting a single opportunity as each and every one of them perished beneath you. Your movements were methodical and graceful as you traveled about the room, eyes filled to the brim with a burning tenacity.

Drawing one last breath, you finally approached the last enemy in the room, a slight smile pulling at your lips as you heard the sound of its head rolling behind you.

Though exhaustion plagued your body from the countless training you had endured in the past few hours, your satisfaction and delight overpowered it. You felt alive. Your very blood seemed to sing, sanguine and full of life as it pounded in your ears and pumped through each and every vein.

Slowly, you watched as the slightly dimmed lights began to brighten, and you allowed yourself to look behind you and admire your handiwork. Sure enough, dozens of the JIDA's training dummies laid behind you, cut into smithereens by the sword wielded by your hand.

"Y/N L/N, you are now permitted to leave the room." A voice spoke through the speakers, and you turned your gaze in the direction of the soldier managing your training session, watching as he gave you a gruff nod. You nodded your head towards him in return before turning to the door, a stern demeanor overtaking you as you exited the room.

3 years.

It had been 3 years since you had left the wolf pack and were thrown back into the chaos of the human world. You would be lying if you told yourself that you didn't yearn to return to the wolf pack; every inch of you seemed to ache for them, begging you to return to the creatures you had learned to love.

However, stronger than that was your desire to protect humanity. Returning to the human world showed you just how terrible the situation had become, and seemed to reinforce all of the reasons why you had come back in the first place.

It happened all too often; word of more and more casualties, of more cities being taken over by the vampires, of human forces being massacred during battles. You were only one individual, and you didn't think of yourself as extraordinarily talented by any means, but you still found it necessary to dedicate yourself to doing all you could to ensure humanity's survival and protect them from the vampires.

And, in addition to that, there were the humans themselves.

Living among wolves for several years had taught you many things, one of which was the fact that wolves were much, much better than people. They did not know betrayal, only trust and admiration. They did not know of lust or greed, or any other form of corruption. No, the wolves you had come to love were pure-hearted and loyal down to their very bones.
