I accidentally bumped into Rin's mum at the mall. "Oh Rose! How are you doing?" She looked excited to see me. I smiled, "Hello, Ms. Blake. How are you?" I used to call Rin by his surname by a joke. "Not much. Just been mourning, you know..." She and I both looked down in sorrow. We both felt the same.

"How come you weren't at the funeral?" I asked her. "Erm. I was on vacation and only found out when I came back." Lies, I said. But I didn't say that to her, obviously. "Oh. But you have money; surely you could've taken a private jet to make it to her funeral, no?" She avoided eye contact with me because she knew I was right.

"I'll see you around Rose." She took off in embarrassment. She should be embarrassed. Imagine knowing your child is dead and not going to their funeral... that's why no one was there. She didn't tell anyone. How sad.

I don't even think I'll have anyone at my funeral. They'll just chuck me in the dirt.

I want to ride my bike because I haven't rode it in a very long time. It's my favourite colour (yellow) with white and black rimmed wheels with a basket in the front. It also has fake roses on it. Rin gave those roses to me actually. That story is for another time.

So I am taking it out of the storage closet. Each student has one in the basement of the dormitories, but they're really small. Everything else in this closet is bleach and other cleaning supplies. She's dusty! I'm so excited. I want to feel the wind hit my face as I ride around the endless streets of the city. I want to feel free. I want to feel happy.

Because this is probably the last thing that can make me feel happy. Short lived, but worth it. "Let's take you out for once." I sighed to myself.
