His brain slowly got more awake and he felt some arms around him and warmth. So obviously he snuggled into this warmth. That was until he was more awake, to realize that this warmth had a thud sound. It was steady and slow and this made him realize that this was a person who was hugging him. His eyes snapped open and he saw that he was hugged by Mordred. Peter felt relaxed and well-rested.
"Good mornin'."
The hug was left and he looked up at the male. He was feeling glad that he wasn't waking up alone. And he was grateful for Mordred still be there.
"M-Morning."
He muttered as he sat up and looking around. They were still at the cave and when his head turned to the right, he could see that they were in some kind of forest.
"So, how long will it take to get us to Camelot and how will we get there? Because walking wouldn't be that good of an idea. This Morgana person for sure will search for us and I rather don't want her to get to- um- sorry I rambled again."
A chuckle was heard and he felt his cheeks flush a bit. The ruffle of his hair made him slightly flinch again.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
Peter nodded and let out a sigh. This was an issue he still had and it wasn't wanting to make his new friend feel bad.
"Don't worry. It has to do with my past experience. Some people aren't as...-um- kind as you are or my two brother figure."
He mumbled as he looked everywhere else. Peter knew too well how people can be, but that wasn't meaning that everyone was bad. Some just went through a lot to make them like this. The best example was Mordred. A wince was seen going through Mordred and that made him just smile sadly now at him.
"That sounds not so pleasant."
He nodded and there was a comfortable silence. Another one or two minutes until Mordred started to talk.
"For now we walk and when we get to a town, we can try and get a horse. I have some money."
They started to move out of the cave and started to walk in a direction. At some point, his legs started to get heavy and he knew that he was starting to get tired. Before he could really ask for getting picked up, two hands picked him up and he felt himself being put on the shoulder. A startled yelp was coming out, but soon he giggled. His short arms went around the neck, just so that he wouldn't fall down.
"We will have another 2 hours walk and then we should be in the next town."
He hummed at this and his head was now on Mordred's head. It was fluffy and he quite liked the feel under his chin of the raven-haired.
"I will try my best to make Merls and Arthy let you talk."
This was the start of a discussion and he hadn't even realized that the time flew by until they were ending in an unfamiliar town. His eyes looked around in awe and there were people walking around. It was quite busy and he liked to observe people.
"There we are. We should get some food and water as well a hood for you."
His eyes still looked around, but his attention shifted now back to Mordred as he heard him say this.
"Un seems like a good plan to me."
They got their things as well a black hood and got was he glad. The hood helped him be warm. They as well got a black horse, which he decided to name Sally. The rest was relatively calm until some bandits appeared...
"Oh, what do we have here? Travelers alone and helpless."
His eyes glanced now up at Mordred. They both had their hoods up so that half of their face was hidden by shadows. This was making him feel intimidated at how stranger sounded. Even Peter knew that they were in serious trouble and the fear gripped in his stomach.
"I would advise you to leave. I won't hesitate to use force when I have to."
This was making him feel shivers going through his small frame. Peter never had heard Mordred like this, but he knew that he was safe. Mordred was usually not someone who would resort to violence. One thing was clear it could end up rather bloody.
"Hah, what will you do alone and with a kid?"
A kid that could still probably win.
Were his thoughts at this. Peter was pretty sure that even without him having full control of his powers he would win. And he wasn't per se weak, or how else could he explain that he managed to break the chains?"
"Just don't underestimate us. Just because we are two doesn't mean we don't know how to fight."
His reply softly as he was looking down at the people. At the start, everything went well, until one of the guys got his grasp on him. This led to him squirm and he was feeling like that day. Some memories flashed through him and he started not just to squirm as well whine.
"L-let g-go of me...d-don't touch m-me..."
Came out like a mantra over and over. His body shaking right now and he was feeling more and more terrified. By now he forgot about his strength and he forgot about his magic. All that was on his mind was the memories that flashed through him.
"......................"
A new male voice said, but by now he was too unfocused to hear what this person just said. All that he knew was that this was a male voice. There noises around him, but soon the memories stopped and he was gasping for air. It took him a moment to realize that he was now in the arms of Mordred who was going soothing circled on his back and he felt a weird calmness overcome him.
Alright, you are back now. I have used a calming spell. Are you alright?
His arms slowly hugged him back as he let out a shuddered breath. God was he glad that Mordred helped him out.
Un, just memories of what Skip had done...
He was now picked up and he buried his face into the chest of Mordred. There was an eerie calmness now until someone started to talk.
"What are you doing here? And did you kidnap this child?"
A gasp escaped as he heard Merlin's voice. His head peaked out now and he glared now. The hood he took away and he was mad.
"Wow, you can't just assume things like this. Without him, I would be here now. I am ashamed of you Merlin."
This took Merlin by surprise and he could see the confusion swirling in his eyes. But soon there was anger flashing through the blue eyes.
"Do you have any idea what-"
"Yes. I know what he did and I agree it wasn't really the nicest way but did you at least try to talk to him? No! Instead, you just shunned him out and fuel his hatred! Maybe when you would have talked it out like adults this wouldn't have happened"
He huffed out, feeling even angrier that Merlin wasn't even trying to understand Mordred. This led to one last sentence being blurted out in his childish mantra.
"Right now I so hate you Merlin!"
After the words escaped he realized what he just said and felt now guilt wage on him. This wasn't what he wanted to say, but he could take it back now...
"I-..."
His mouth closed it again and he buried his face now into the chest of Mordred as his hands gripped tightly on the shirt what he was wearing right now. The tears soon followed and he felt really bad.
"See what you did now. Merlin, you should be ashamed, you made him cry now."
This was the voice of Gwaine and he sniffed more. Wanting to get to his other brother figure. He just cried harder now and he could feel that Mordred was slowly feeling lost.
How can I calm you down?
Please give me my big brother Gwaine...
There was a shift and soon he was into someone else arms. He instantly knew who it was when he caught the whiff of the familiar scent of Gwaine. He latched onto the male and at some point, he felt the exhaustion taking over. His eyes dropped slowly and he fell asleep.
