*Ashley*
It's been a little over a week since the new year and there's been so much going on. It's California..right, I keep forgetting that. People here just looove to socialize. And tonight we have to attend this formal party where almost all the people in the neighbourhood are going to be there. So I have to look 'appropriate' according to mother.
Standing in front of the mirror, I can't keep my eyes of this utterly, hideous looking...thing. Saying it's a dress would really hurt…the..humanity of dresses!. To mother, it's very 'elegant' because it's an ivory coloured chiffon lace dress which she knew would look amazing on nobody else but,…me. I keep moving around trying to be comfortable, thinking maybe I could cut off the extra puffy fabrics. I can't do this right now and this is seriously getting on my nerves. I could've told mother I'm not going. But, she just couldn't resist buying this for me and Mia says it'll break her heart if I don't go wearing it. The only reason I'm going is 'cause Valerie's gonna be there. I hope we have some sort of fun, otherwise I'll get Mia for all this. I wore some black accessories to match the ivory colour and pulled my fluffy hair into a tight crown plait and somehow managed to keep all of it neatly together.
'Ok, You can do this!' I keep telling myself.
'It's just one night....and a horrid dress..'
'Ashley! You coming out anytime soon?!' Mia screams and bangs on my door, making me jump out of fright.
'I'm coming, I'm coming!' I smooth out the dress and open the door to a very impatient looking Mia..wearing..
'Holycow! What are you wearing!?'
'what? Does it look bad? she frowns.
'How come you look better than meh!! Look at what I'm wearing! It looks like a dress made out of whipping cream!' I almost shout.
'SHHH!' Mia hisses at me.
'sorry, but you look awesome!' I hate herr...she was wearing a simple black strapless dress that reached up to her knees. It looking way better then my whipping cream. She just wore some long, chandelier earrings and a small bracelet.
'Oh thanks Ash! she beams. 'But you look awesome too!'
I raise an eyebrow.
'No, you dooo, come'on! Mom picked it up for you. You do know it'll upset her if you don't wear it. And I know you wouldn't want that to happen! It pretty, you look like the time when you were 3, with those cute fluffy white dresses mom made you wear! I miss that Ashley.'
Here she goes on and on. 'Okay, okay, god I'll stop.' I say at last.
'Are you two over with your little conversation? Because we are leaving!' Jared shouts out from downstairs. We hurry up and leave for the party.
Here goes to nothing.
*Jason*
Ok, I got the tux on and now I gotta figure out how to wear the bow. I wore it once before, but I just can't remember the ways to wear it properly.
'Oh come here you!' I see mom coming over to my room with a frown.
'18 and still can't get this right!'
'oh come'on mom, it's just a bow that ancient men wore around their necks everywhere they went just to impress chicks s--'
'there, done!' she smiles and raises an eyebrow.
'thanks mom, you look really nice tonight' I take her hand and spin her 'round.
'uh-huh..okay what do you want?' she says with a you're-not-getting-anything-this-time look.
