If there was one thing Sonic hated almost as much as the Egg Empire, it was having to wake up early.

Well, 9:30 was early for him.

Part of him wished he hadn't agreed to Elias' assignment, but on the inside he didn't want to let him down. Elias was a good friend, and good king. And maybe one day, good brother in law.

He did have to admit, being up "this early" was very nice this time of morning. He was walking around outside, feeling the weather slowly change from the evening light chill, to the midday warmth. The weather was perfect; a light breeze with a light cozy heat from the sun. And the people he came across who knew him were as kind as could, most due to the fact that he was the Hero of Mobius. A bold title, but a very welcomed one in his eyes.

He had done as requested, and recorded each business that would have a tent up for the festival. And along his way, he even helped some members setup their tents out of the kindness of his heart. He made his rounds to almost every tent, without even running his usual super speed. It was a nice morning, and he was going to enjoy it.

One vendor of which, happened to be the overly friendly, Vector the Crocodile. Which slightly concerned Sonic, given how Vector wasn't exactly... very bright.

"Sonic? Since when are you awake before noon?" Vector asked out of pure curiosity, non sarcastically. Sonic ignored his comment, and looked at the food he'd had cooking and brewing on one of his tables. "Dude, what are you making?" Sonic confusingly asked, wondering if the food was actually... edible.

"This is a new recipe I created! Take a look!" The croc said with enthusiasm, lifting one of the lids from the crock pots. The very second that smell hit Sonic's nose, he gagged and covered his mouth. Which of course, Vector for some reason took as a compliment.

"Smells delicious, Huh? I call it.. Goobaya!" Vector patted Sonic on the back, almost knocking the wind completely out of his chest. "Gah! What's in it?" Sonic covered his nose as well, with more of the disgusting scent hitting his nostrils.

"Just a little bit of everything I threw together from my kitchen. Ya know, some beans, hot sauce, carrots, cashews, chips, ground meat, noodles, flour, guacamole—

But as Vector continued to name off his repulsive combined ingredients, Sonic slowly slipped away, trying his very hardest not to throw up. "Dear god, that smelt like a sweaty bike seat." Sonic choked down the vomit, and regathered himself.

"Sonic!" He then heard the lovely voice of his favorite lady. He looked up the street that led to the downtown area of the kingdom, and saw Sally standing there with two drinks in her hands.

Sonic smirked, as he finally used his super speed to run up the hill.

"Good morning, Blue." Sally happily spoke, reaching out to hand him one of the drinks. "Gooood morning gorgeous." Sonic smiled, as the two began to walk back into downtown. He grabbed the drink from her, and took a sip. "Wow. What's in this? It's really sweet." Sonic's eyes widened as the two made their way through the street.

"It's from Bunnie's vendor. I don't know what she put in her lemonade, but boy does it kick." Sally lightly laughed, locking her hand with Sonic's as they walked.

The two looked around in awe at all the beautiful lights and decorations that were being put up around the town. Not to mention, all the completely setup tents that Sonic had passed by earlier that morning. All were open for business, though they realized the real business would come after the parade and the fireworks in the evening.

"Did you happen to walk passed Vector's stand?" Sally then asked him, feeling repulsed by the idea of his food. "Yep." Sonic briefly answered, feeling the same way. "Did he show you the—
