Naugus ate up at the loud applause and cheering of him. Not only did it feed his already soaring ego, but it would be easier to get the people to turn to his side. "No! Don't thank me! I'm just here for the people!" He lied clean through his sharp teeth, bowing in false humility. With his surprisingly strange appearance, a few citizens were afraid to approach. He may have just been seen doing a selfless and heroic deed, but for some he was still frightening to look at. After all, Naugus was a hybrid of three different species; a bat, a lobster, and a rhino.
So it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to walk up and give their thanks to him."Hey!" A loud motherly voice caught his attention. "Who.. who are you?" She said with a bleak smile on her face, still partially shaken from the events that just occurred. The evil wizard smiled as he lifted his magic staff into the air, and spelt out his name with lights and yellow sparkles.
___________________________Elias ran back passed the castle walls, looking for the floating caper that just saved his kingdom. He was still in disbelief as to what happened, shaking in hope that it wasn't the person he thought it was. Little did he know, his suspicions were right.
Tails, Geoffrey and Nicole followed quickly behind, just as curious as he was. Sure Tails was a hair too young to remember the chaos that Naugus had caused years ago, but from the look on Elias' face, he prayed it wasn't the wizard Elias predicted.
As soon as the group had exited the walls to Castle Acorn, Elias had stopped in his footsteps.
Everywhere he turned, was destruction. Some homes and buildings had collapsed under the Death Egg's collateral damage. Dozens of inhumanely large pieces of metal and parts were scattered across his worn kingdom. He couldn't believe it. All he wanted to do was become the King his father was. Every bit of king his father wanted him to be.
Tents and stands that were setup for such a celebratory evening, were now destroyed. Tattered decorations and torn light strands laid on the ground, flickering from all the damage. The freshly cleaned streets were now covered in sharp pieces of metal and whatever technology Dr. Eggman had used on his large aircraft.
But in the midst of it all, and at its very worst, was the tall and bulky wizard himself.
"I am... Ixis Naugus!" He chanted to the awestruck people, spelling out his name in the sky above them with his magic staff. The children gasped in glee at the bright 'NAUGUS' in the sky.
"Naugus..." Elias said with wide eyes, beginning to shiver where he stood. Tails and Nicole followed closely behind, stopping right at his back. "Elias, whats wro—" Nicole froze. She caught his eye, and stared at the evil wizard.
But out of everyone looking at Naugus, the only one who was unaware of his identity, was Geoffrey St. John. The fact that the man immediately struck terror into Elias' soul, almost stunned him. Confused him even. Never before had he seen that expression across his king's face. After watching the mysterious creepy looking gentlemen save everybody through the Acorn's lands, he didn't understand why Elias feared him.
But of all things considered, Geoffrey was beginning to smirk at such a sight.
As Ixis continued to humbly brag on himself to the people, his eye was caught on the colorful robes of Elias. His eyes widened at the mere sight of him, surprised he had come into contact with him so quickly. The moment he had been waiting years for, was finally here. This was his time, to make the move he was so giddy to make.
"Your highness!" The wizard pretended to bow before Elias, though showcasing a dark and mischievous smirk.
That was all it took to knock the King from his trance. His hands quickly clenched into fists, and his terror shaken body, now began to shake in hate.
