Sonic: Rise of the Iron Dominion

Return of the Wizard

Sonic raced through the city, stomping every terrorizing bot he came across. Most of which were attempting to capture Mobian citizens, but he refused to let it happen on his watch. He had never let Mobius down, and he wasn't about to start now, no matter how dire the situation.

Multiple drones fired red plasma beams at him at once, easily being avoided by the fastest thing alive. "Pfft. Child's play." The confident hedgehog spoke pridefully. He then jumped high in the air between two of the drones, causing them to fire at one another simultaneously. The two exploded, as he landed feet first on another drone's head.

He then reached down in the open wiring of the machine, and ripped out a few random cords and processing parts. It began to spark and flicker before finally falling to the ground. Sonic used the momentum of the fall and barrel rolled on the ground and tossed himself back into the air.

The blue hedgehog jumped high over a drone as it fired a red laser at him, barely singeing a quill off his back. He then spun into a spinning ball of sharp quills, impacting on the killer robot. It exploded on impact, as Sonic landed safely on his feet.

"He just never learns, does he." The cocky hedgehog smirked to himself and patted his hands together to relieve of any dust. He looked around at all the destroyed robots on the street, seeing multiple people cower in fear from the recent attack. "Don't worry, you're safe now." Sonic said to a woman holding her newborn baby in the corner of an alley.

"Thank you, Sonic. Thank you so much!" The woman heartedly spoke. "Just doing my job ma'am. Find some shelter, that isn't the last of them." Sonic replied, happy to help. The lady nodded, and ran off to the nearest building to hide inside.

Looking around, Sonic realized his work around here was done. What he needed to do now, was continue speeding around the city, hunting down the rest of the attack bots.

As he ran through the now empty festive streets, he looked up at the large Egg-shaped sphere in the sky. As he sadly predicted, Tails and Elias still hadn't found a way to protect the kingdom and end the feud.

"Cmon, guys." Sonic said to himself, beginning to grow frustrated.

Nicole scrambled through everything in her database that could possibly solve their problem. But even in her own opinion, she saw both sides of the predicament between King Elias and Geoffrey. She hated feeling the pressure of being the main go to when it came to national defense, since it was a huge role of high importance.

The group had trapped themselves inside the castle walls, giving them only a minor edge of the mad scientist temporarily. As much faith as Elias had in Sonic, there was no way he alone would take that monstrous creation down. Especially since he literally had no way up to it. Their only hope—as much as he hated to admit it—were the cannons on the top of the kingdom walls.

"Nicole, update." Elias ordered, now beginning to feel a great deal of stress and frustration. "I'm doing the best I can, boss. While being blocked from the system, there is only so much I can do." Nicole stressfully spoke, looking through each of the holographic screens she had floating around her.

He knew he had a decision to make here. His first priority as king was the safety of his people. Though, he knew he was running out of options at an accelerated rate.

As Elias was in deep through, he heard the stomping of multiple boots approaching him. Hopeful for an answer, he quickly turned to the guards that ran towards him. "Report." He sternly said, as they stopped before him.

"We've launched the plasma catapults at the Death Egg as requested, sire. But..." The worm guard then hesitated. "But what? What's going on?" Amadeus addressed his men. "Well... sir Eggman has repelled some kind of ray shield over his Death Egg." He deeply sighed, causing Elias' eyes to widen. "What are you saying, general?" Amadeus quietly asked, already afraid of what he was about to say.
