The lights and colors of New Mobotropolis were absolutely breathtaking. Everywhere the commoners turned, they saw nothing but bright surroundings and even brighter people.
The sun finally began to go down, which showcased all the bright lanterns and ornaments around the kingdom. It was finally the big night. Sonic walked through the streets of New Mobotropolis, trying his hardest not to enjoy all of his surroundings. He wanted to wait for Sally so they could enjoy the festival together. This was a rare occasion, and Sonic wanted to spend it with the one he fell in love with.
He strolled through the city with a smile on his face, taking his time so the night could last. A band of flowers in his left hand, as well as a pair of matching glowing bracelets a little girl handed him on his way.
He'd eventually made his way without seeing most of the festivities, games and other fun celebratory things. He approached the walls of Castle Acorn, and greeted the two guards that stood before the double doors. He'd known most of the guards by name, solely due to the fact that he'd known Sally most of his life.
"Sup guys." He casually said, expecting to be ignored because it wasn't their jobs to respond. They casually nodded in greeted, and allowed him through the double doors. As soon as he entered the castle walls the thick doors shut behind him, slightly shaking the ground.
He made his way through the massive castle setup, eventually approaching Sally's room. He politely stood two feet back from the door, and knocked. "Paging Princess Sally." Sonic loudly said through the reinforced door. He waited for a moment, before hearing a muffled, "One second, Blue", through the door.
He had the flowers presented up at his chest, with both glowing bracelets in his other hand. He knew it would take her a moment to get ready, considering she was the next in line for the throne if anything were to happen to Elias. Regardless, she was still royalty, so she had to be presented as such.
Right as Sonic began to lose his very thin patience, he heard her heels pace up to the door. She finally opened it, immediately looking Sonic in the eye. And to say he wasn't exactly ready was an understatement.
His jaw nearly hit the floor as soon as he saw her walk up. She had on a dark blue dress that was covered in sparkles, as well red heels to match her hair. And on her head, was her Princess tiara she only wore on important occasions. It was so special, when she didn't wear it, King Elias had it stashed in the vault until use.
"Wow, Sal. Just... wow." Sonic was at a loss for words. "It's a little much, I know. But it comes with the Princess title." She smiled and gave a quick twirl. "Those for me?" She joking said, pointing to the flowers in his hand. "No, actually I brought them for Nicole. Big day for her getting to roam around for the first time." Sonic jokingly said back with the grin that melted her heart. If there was one thing she loved about him, it was his humor.
He handed her the flowers, waiting to present the bracelets to her. One was glowing red and the other was glowing blue. "Ironic," He thought you himself. Sally quickly ran back into her room to place the flowers in a pot, then came back out to join her blue blur.
"And here is your jewelry, madame." Sonic opened his hand to reveal the two bracelets in his palm. "Wow, very formal." She looked at the bracelets, loving the idea of a simple but fun way to celebrate like the used to when they were children. "I will wear the blue, you take the red." She smiled and put the glowing wrist ring on.
"Shall we?"
"Let's."
Sonic stuck his arm out, being grabbed by Sally as the walked to the stairwell to begin their night with King Elias' speech.
