Childhood Crush Dave×Jack

AN- This one was requested by ThatOneFriendTy. Realized I haven't done much sportagine, so thanks for requesting this! Also, I'm keeping for this that Dave changed his name before he met Henry. Think this is going to be a new AU where Henry is actually good and no one dies, except for Dan and Paris (Jack, Dee, and Peter's parents). Although they have an aunt that gives them money every now and then so they aren't living paycheck to paycheck.

Dave was hungry. Starving even. He hadn't found anything for about a week now.

He was cold, tired, and scared. He hated being on the streets.

But... what choice did he have? He had nowhere to go, no place to call home.

He noticed an abandoned Treehouse. It looked as though it hadn't been touched in years.

That could help for shelter. Sure, he'd still be starving, but at least he would be out of the rain. He stepped up the ladders, looking around. It was decently sized, and even had a small mattress! Also some board games! He could see if he could figure out how to play them later. He walked over to the mattress, curling into himself.

He wished he had a blanket, but it was the softest thing he's laid on in a while.

His eyes closed and he drifted off.

When he woke up an orange haired boy who looked a year younger than him with hazel eyes, and covered in freckles was looking at him curiously. He backed away, growling.

"S-Stay back!" The boy put up his hands to show he meant no harm. "Hold on, I'm not going to hurt you. I just noticed you were in here, so I came up here. You look cold, and being in here probably isn't the most comfortable thing. If you want you can come with me to my house."

Dave glared at him, although he looked like he wanted to. "My name's Jack by the way, and dinner's ready if you want to join."

He began walking away. Dave thought for a second, before shouting "Stop!"

Jack turned around. "I-I'll come with..." Jack smiles. "Alright, follow me then!"

The two climbed down to the bottom and walked to the Kennedy's house.

"Peter! I'm home!" Peter walked over, noticing Dave. "Uh, who's this bro?"

"This is..." "...Dave..." "I found him in the abandoned Treehouse. He was extremely cold, so I offered him to follow me home." Peter smiled. "Hello, my name is Peter Kennedy. It's nice to meet you." Dave waved shyly, looking worried. Peter noticed his ripped and dirty clothing.

"Jack? Why don't you show Dave to the bathroom so he can clean himself up. He can borrow some of my old clothing since yours won't fit." Dave looked surprised.

"A-Are you sure?" "Positive." Dave smiled.

"Thank you..." "It's no problem."

Time Skip~

After they ate Dave was given his old clothes fixed and clean. Dave was prepared to leave after they said he could keep the clothes, but Jack stopped him.

"Where do you think you're going?" "Probably back to the Treehouse, but if you want it I can just keep looking for a place." Jack looked concerned. "What do you mean? You don't have to leave you know?" Dave looked at him surprised.

"I wouldn't want to be a bother..." Jack smiled at him, grabbing his hand making Dave blush. "Why would you be a bother? Dee and Peter and... I like you being around."

Jack blushed slightly. "Please don't leave?" Dave smiled and nodded.

"Ok, I'll stay."

The two had gotten close. Inseparable. It's been a year since Dave decided to stay, Dan and Paris welcoming him to the family. But, they sensed something was going on between Dave and Jack, so they didn't adopt him. But... then the crash happened.

Jack shut himself in his room, and Peter was working to try and avoid the grief.

Dee of course didn't exactly understand what was happening, so she was just confused to where mom and dad was. Dave felt horrible, he felt he couldn't do anything.

He sighed, knocking on Jack's door for the 5th time. "Sportsy? Please, I'm really worried."

No answer. He sighed. "That's it, I'm coming in." He opened the door only to find Jack sobbing silently into his pillow. Dave walked over to him, pulling him into his lap.

Jack sobbed, saying he was sorry over and over. Dave shushed him, telling him he had nothing to be sorry for. Dave began singing to him. Finally, Jack calmed down.

Dave kissed his head, making Jack and him turn into blushing messes.

"J-Jack I'm so s-sorry I wasn't thinkin-" Jack kissed him on the cheek. They both turned extremely red. "I like you Dave... have ever since we met..."

Dave smiled, kissing his cheek as well. "I-I like you too Jack."

"Wow, that's how you too met? Why haven't you told me this yet?"

"Sorry Mr. Miller, never really came up I guess." Henry smiled at the two.

"You really were childhood crushes huh?" "Yeah, and now engaged adults."

Jack showed off his ring. Henry gasped.

"OHMYGOD-"
