She wanted to throw up.
This had been an impulsive plan.
If you knew anything about Annabeth, she hated impulsive plans. She had felt much better about the plan before - but the second they stepped out of the room, she instantly regretted it.
And Percy, who had been pretty on-edge about the whole situation, seemed completely fine with the whole thing.
She was supposed to impersonate a Gisela.
Gisela.
She decided to act strict and smart. That was a pretty safe bet.
Percy, on the other hand, seemed to have completely soaked in his "character" without even knowing who he was.
"Gethen, Gisela, we have the shade." said a male's voice. His name on his cloak was Alvar, and Annabeth tried to reply, but her voice got stuck in her throat.
Luckily, Percy nodded with a somehow scary demeanor, and said in a deep voice, "Good. We have business to attend to, we will get back to it later."
Alvar nodded, and turned to Gisela as if looking for approval.
Taking a breath, she nodded and asked, "Do you know where they're keeping Soph - I mean, the moonlark?"
She knew her mistake had cost her, though. Alvar's eyes narrowed, and said, "You don't know where they're keeping the moonlark?"
Suddenly, Percy shoved them both into an empty room, uncapping Riptide, and glaring at Alvar. In the midst of it all, all of their hoods had fallen off, and Alvar looked mysteriously like Fitz.
"Show us where they are and we'll spare your life." Percy said simply, a bored expression on his face.
"Don't kill him." Annabeth whispered, and Percy whispered back, "I know, but - there's no other way to make him take us to them."
Annabeth reluctantly agreed as the man scowled at them. "I'll take you to them - if you help me with something."
Annabeth narrowed her eyes. "What?"
"My mission is to get Tam Song to join the Neverseen." He said, his cobalt blue eyes shining with malice. "You have to help me."
"Are you really so stupid you can't get someone to join your team?" Percy asked, earning a smack on his arm from Annabeth as a reminder that he was supposed to be convincing Alvar to help them.
"We'll help you." Annabeth declared, and Percy gave her an astonished look.
"But first, bring us to Sophie and Fitz."
She saw Alvar's eyes darken at Fitz's name, and she was momentarily surprised. She had always thought it was Sophie that the Neverseen was after, but apparently not.
"Fine." He said sullenly, "But your boyfriend has to let me go first."
Annabeth was sure the comment was supposed to be embarrassing, but little did he know Percy was actually her boyfriend.
Percy smiled. "Yep, I do. But only once you promise you'll take us to Sophie and Fitz."
"I promise." Alvar muttered, rolling his eyes. "Now can I get up?"
Percy drew Riptide away from Alvar's throat. "Good. Now show us where they are."
Alvar silently walked out the door, and Annabeth and Percy shared a look, silently agreeing their best bet was to trust this guy.
Still, Annabeth had a feeling that everything was gonna go wrong.
