"You will always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling 'cause you'll always be my baby"

"Faster!" el said as she looked out the window. they had been driving for at least a million years...or at least that's what it felt like.

Jonathan rolled his eyes and continued driving. Will had his walkman plugged in and he was not even bothering to listen to Els insistent whining.

"El, if I drive any faster we will crash and then we won't get there at all." Jonathan said as he looked between El and the road.

El continued to look out the window. "Well all the other girls and stuff are there. Max. I should've been there." She then turned to look at Jonathan with a purse of her lips.

"You're going to be there today. Isn't that important?" Jonathan said with a small smile. Trying to somewhat make El feel better.

Els voice was flat. "Yeah. Sure."

Jonathan knew that she was mad about not being able to go to Hawkins sooner. "El, I know that you wanted to be there for Joyce, Nancy and..Max. But they didn't do anything that fun. Max didn't even get to go to the bachelorette party." Jonathan stated.

El continued to look out the side window at the trees that they drove by. "I know. Max called before we left." She said with a short response.

"She did?" Jonathan looked at the road and then at El rapidly. "Did she say anything about Nancy?" He asked.

El rolled her eyes and sighed, resting her chin on her palm. "No. Max is mad at Lucas. No Nancy buisness." She knew that Jonathan and Nancy hadn't seen each other as much since they moved away from Hawkins.

She wasn't stupid.

She knew.

He said with disappointment in his voice. "Oh." Jonathan tried to change the subject to make conversation. "Any you know...word from Mike?" El's eyes lit up at this.

She cleared her throat and kept her look out of the windshield and didn't even question answering. El could feel Jonathan looking at her, he waited for her to answer.

She didn't miss a beat as she spoke about the boy that she loved so dearly. "Yes. He misses me. Can't wait to see me. He loves me. He said that he didn't get to go to the party either." Seeing as it was a bachelorette party with women it made perfect sense.

He just chuckled and sighed audibly. "Yeah that would make sense." He said.

Jonathan saw a sign that said only fifteen more miles until the exit for Hawkins. "Only fifteen more miles. We're almost there." Jonathan said.

El looked out the window. The excitement almost bubbling out of her. She couldn't help it. She couldn't wait to see her friends and of course her boyfriend. El was very happy just to be able to see everyone again.
