Hello, and sorry.

I know it's been a long time. I didn't mean to not update for so long. I fell sick. The highest fever I have ever had and my family and I, we all were scared with the coronavirus going around. I had to sleep, eat, vomit, have my medicines and repeat so the past days have been hard. I couldn't write and update the new chapter because the radiations of the electronic devices hurt my head. Thank you for reading and liking this story it means so much that I might or might not be lowkey crying right now *you guys are awesome*. Thank you So much. Also sorry again for the long update and short chapter but I'll try to update as soon as I can and bring a longer and hopefully  better chapter.

I hope you like the chapter. The Dramione ship is going to start it's journey.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock... The clock continued.

Headmistress McGonagall stared at the two students sitting in front of her, across the desk. Both fidgeting in their seats, waiting for her to speak.

McGonagall couldn't believe the situation that had arisen. She shared a glance with Madam Pomfrey, both thinking the same thing. "How to talk to them?"

The emotions boiling inside both the students were transparent enough for the teachers to guess. Hermione seemed to be angry, confused, and nervous. Draco did not seem to be able to rest his hands which kept finding their way to his hair, roughing them up.

It has been about twenty minutes since Madam Pomfrey rescued a distraught and scared Malfoy with dangerous boils sprouting from every visible place on his skin from an angry and scary Hermione. She was chasing him with her wand held firmly in her hand and rage clear in her eyes. Here they were now in the Headmistress's office sitting in their respective seats discussing the matter at hand.

Hermione still couldn't wrap her head around the news, which she just got. It didn't fit well with her that the person whom she's spent years hating, turns out to be her soulmate. The rules of the soulmate bond that Headmistress McGonagall shared with help from Madam Pomfrey seemed even more ridiculous.

"The soulmates can't stay away from each other for more than a few days."
"Physical contacts are essential almost all the time. It strengthens them otherwise they'll grow weak."
"The bond's power increases after the first kiss and, it establishes completely after the Veela has marked its mate."

The sound of a chair sliding brought Hermione out of her mind's flashback and, she looked up to see McGonagall standing up to walk around the room. She strolled a few times beside them as if in deep thoughts. Finally, she stopped and turned to look at them.

"Our knowledge on Veelas is limited and, about their mates even more so. Unfortunately, we cannot help you with more information as to what the bond might have in store for you. You both will have to find that out for yourselves and see. The bond is not one-sided, only efforts from both sides will bring good results, otherwise, it will end up badly for both of you. Now, I want you to leave and go back to your dormitories, pack your bags and, follow Madam Pomfrey to your new live-in quarters."

As they both stand up to leave, chairs screeching in protest McGonagall stops them and says," Mr. Malfoy, Miss Granger, always remember even if no one is there for either of you, you have to be there for each other so you'll never be alone. Don't look at this bond as a curse, look at it like an opportunity hidden in a blessing."

They both nodded not knowing what to say as they made their way out the door.

Draco could feel a bit of hope seeping into his veins as he stole glances at the brunette. Hermione felt scared and angry for having an important choice being taken away from her. She hated the helplessness that hit her as soon as she went out that door.

It's another life test that they have to pass.

Will they make it?
