"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." ― Martin Luther King Jr
(Let's get started shall we?)
It was anything but silence in the classroom as there were huffs and puffs, groans and whispers echoing in the dungeons. Smokes of different shades blew up from the cauldrons escaping into nothingness.
Professor Slughorn in his usual joyful self was being nothing but a cheerful pain in the behind as he frolicked, gayly around the classroom.
Ginny and Neville (whom she had begrudgingly accepted with a fake smile) were far behind the others and even with her decent knowledge Ginny could not save the supposed to be aquamarine potion from turning neon pink. With a panicking Neville and the time limit coming to an end she desperately turned to her best friend who stood just in front with her partner finishing the last procedures before leaving the cauldron on flame for brewing, their potion glistening a brilliant blue-green. One of the only two in the whole class. The second almost perfect potion belonged to a certain Slytherin pair who were the only ones working in complete silence, neither in the mood of conversing. They just wanted the day to end already.Clearing their table, leaving the potion for brewing Zabini and Malfoy were greeted by the booming voice of Professor Slughorn exclaiming "Well done boys! Perfect as ever." he left after strongly patting their shoulders and receiving exaggerated smiles from them.
" Curse your Veela strength." Blaise groaned seeing his friend unfazed as he rolled his shoulders to relieve the pain.
Draco ignored his grumbles and focused on the brunette who had now turned around to help her friend. His eyes gauging her as if they would swallow her whole if they could. Suddenly his eyes met baby blue ones and a staring contest sparked between him and Ivan. Both tried to intimidate the other into turning away. Draco didn't know why but he felt he saw a dark glint in his eyes which left him wondering what mysteries the boy hid. At last, he decided to end the childish staring contest before turning back to gaze at his mate when a spark caught his attention and his eyes widened seeing smoke coming from the cauldron she was working on.
Hermione worked on the weirdly neon-colored potion. She sent Neville to bring Iguana nails and a fine string of unicorn hair to try and fix the potion but then realizing her mistake that it's Neville, Ginny was sent after him. Her eyes widened as she saw smoke coming out of the potion which was not supposed to happen under any circumstances. She frantically tried to look around her, for anything. The brightest witch of her age wasn't prepared for her and till she caught on it was too late.
An explosion turned everyone's attention towards itself as they hectically ran to save themselves. Dark smoke and fumes enveloped the whole room.
Hermione felt herself flying away from the blast preparing herself for the pain from smacking into a wall when she felt a pair of arms around her catching her. She saw the stormy gaze of her savior as the impact sent both of them toppling over on the floor and her lips found his as she fell on top of him. All her energy left her, pain replacing the adrenaline rush as she closed her eyes to the feeling of soft lips on hers.
