Mary's POV
I was summoned into the palace by the King of Ember. I don't even know the reason why he called me at such a short notice.
I used to work there as one of Queen Rose's servants. I hated the idea of leaving the palace. Aside my very home,it was like a second home to me. The queen never treated me like a servant . In fact she treated me like an elder sister.She got really pissed when I told her about my departure but she eventually gave in to it because she knew how important it was for me.
After my mom died I felt so lonely. So I just needed to go to my birth place, Angellos in order to feel a lot closer to them. I was the only child of my parents.
My dad died two years after I was born. I don't even remember the times we spent together but whenever I see old pictures of the three of us together I get reassured that we were once a happy family and that my dad loved me greatly.
Right now I'm in a train,heading to Ember.
I'm very anxious about this whole thing.
Its been years since I went there and all of a sudden I'm being summoned there.
I hope everything turns out fine.
After the longest four hour journey of my life
I finally reach there.
Immediately I alight there is a carriage waiting elegantly for me to hop in.
It has been so long. Angellos is no close to Ember. Ember is like heaven on earth. Its just beautiful.
Many call it the city of lights because of the amazing lights she has.
I reach the palace and I'm told to wait for the king at the Great hall.
I do what I'm told and walk straight to the hall
The King later joins me.
And he tells me the reason why I was called here.
I'm in shock and denial as I listen to him.
How will I be able to raise a child and not just a child, a Princess from this Kingdom?
I refuse to accept the responsibility but he keeps on insisting .
He looks so helpless and sad which makes me rethink my decision.
I see his gaze shift on something else
I turn to follow the gaze of the King to the approaching Queen
She looks beautiful as always but there is something missing, her vibrant smile.
She looks sad just like the King.
As she gets closer I notice a baby in her arms.
Immediately I see the child I feel the need to protect her at all cost. I take the baby into my arms and instantly, I fall in love with her shiny black eyes. She looks so fragile. I just stare at her as if my life depends on it
They tell me Ciara is her name.
A name as beautiful as she is.
I ask them why they are sending such an adorable child away from them.
They then tell me all about the persistent attempt to kill her by people they didn't even have any idea of.
This is because of the great revelations said about the baby but these treacherous devils feel the need to eliminate her in order to prevent these revelations from coming true.
She needed to be far away from Ember as soon as possible at all cost in order to save her from any harm.
How can someone even think of killing such an innocent baby.
Do they even have any form of humanity at all?
I'm told we would be leaving as early as dawn in order to limit the chances of us being followed.
I'm made to swear never to reveal her secret identity to anyone ,even herself.
The queen makes me spend the night in her room
So that it will be quiet easy to brief me about certain things you need to consider when raising a child.
With this, it helps us to spend some quality time together because it's been a while since we got in touch with each other.
After the most emotional send off I've ever witnessed in a Lifetime, we finally hit the road to Angellos.
And after this day,my life was never the same.
Ciara grew up gracefully and lovely as her biological mother.
She grew up to be very different from her peers.
Years passed so quickly and everytime her return back home draws closer, It made it very difficult to give up on her.
I've loved and raised her like my very own child and so far I've been able to keep this secret and no one has ever suspected a thing.

This chapter just describes what caused Ciara to be sent to Angellos to stay with Mary for sometime without knowing her true identity.
The real story will start in the upcoming chapters.
