👸Chapter 11:Old enough

Mom isn't sleeping beside me when i wake up.
I'm sure she went back to her room immediately I fell asleep.

Thoughts of what happened yesterday comes flooding in my head.

I wonder if Em is also thinking about it too.I really miss spending time with her already. I miss how she would laugh at my jokes even when she has heard it from me a lot of times.

I love to listen to her whiles she blabbers about her new obsession over and over again.

Although right now we aren't friends anymore,I will continue to hold our memories together very close to my heart.

I sigh and lay my messy bed.

I quickly go out of my room to take a shower.

I don't see mum around so I assume she is gone to the palace.

The ball is today and i still don't have an idea of the dress i will be wearing,I just hope it's elegant and fits me perfectly enough.

But I don't feel like going to Mat's house. I'm certainly not in the mood to deal with Carlos and his obnoxious attitude.

But then a promise is a promise.
I think i need to stop promising.

After bathing, I look inside the closet to find something to wear.

I decide to wear my dark blue knee length dress and head to the kitchen to eat breakfast.

Surprisingly I find mum there eating breakfast.

"Morning Mom,it's quiet late and you are still here."I say dishing food on my plate.

"Hello,I just wanted to stick around for sometime to see if you are okay."

"Don't worry about me mum,I'm fine and I'm off to Mat's house. Actually,we are going to a beauty parlour to get somethings done and buy a few things "I say joining her on the table.

"Oh really ,why didn't you tell me earlier.wait a second"she says opening her purse.

"Take this money,I think it would be enough to get yourself some beauty apparel for tonight okay.
And get that messy hair of yours fixed and those nails ohh when was the last time you had a manicure.You have to look your best tonight."

"Buh mum,this is too much for just some makeover. It's really not necessary mum afterall I have some money on me,I won't mind using it"I say handing the money back to her .

"Oh no no
It's been a long time since you gave your ownself a treat. I'm not taking this back. Just have fun this day at least.Most of your peers are looking forward to this ball and you are here not even bothered about your looks."

How can i just have fun when things are not going on well between my best friend and I.
I know Mat is a good friend but I would really like it if Emily could join us today.

"But mum,you know what it's going on
Even if I wanted to have fun ,my conscience won't allow me to."

"That shouldn't be an excuse,the fact that things are not going on well doesn't mean you would have to deprive yourself from having fun. It wasn't your fault that this happened.And if everything is destined to be fine and back to normal,they would be so don't punish yourself for this."she says firmly

"Ok mum"I say briefly.

"Good then.hurry up and finish your meal before it goes cold
I will be on my way. I won't repeat what you have to do
I think you are old enough to know all these precautions."She says and kisses my cheek before exiting the kitchen
