A/N: I'm actually so excited for the new season tonight, so in celebration I quickly wrote up this chapter so you could have two forms of new Friday Night Dinner content. It's short, but all will be explained in the next episode I write up.

----------&----------

When Jonny returns later that night, he finds a sack of clothes I put outside the door and a note saying he could stay at his parents' whist I figure out what I was going to do. I know he's read the note when my phone rings, I would elect to ignore it but I'd calmed and decided I'd humour him for a few minutes.

"Lizzie," he sighs when he hears I've picked up "I'm so sorry I -"

"You have 30 seconds before I hang up,"

"I, look she was blackmailing me, she said she'd fire me,"

"So? Should have got fired,"

"I couldn't -"

"Couldn't what Jonny? I would have helped you get a new job, I would have supported you. Fuck, if you'd told me or -" My voice cracks as I realise what's actually happened "I suspected it, I knew for fuck's sake, yet you made me think everything was better with the car,"

"Lizzie - "

"No, shut up. You could have quit, You should have quite, I can't do this, you lied,"

"I needed the money!" he shouts and I can hear his body slam into the front door in exasperation.

"For what?!" he's silent "What the fuck did you need the money for Jonny?! If you had quit I would have helped you get a new job! What could possibly be worth ruining us?! Ruining me!?"

"I was going to propose!" what? what? what?! "I needed the money for a nice ring you'd like," he was going to propose "I was going to tell you, explain how she blackmailed me,"

"Yeah, you didn't though,"

"We never had sex Lizzie, she kept," he takes a deep breath "she kept trying too but I didn't, all I did was some harmless flirting. That phone call was another one of her attempts," it's silent and I'm angry and sad, but can't help but stay on the line. He was going to propose to me.

"Would you have said yes?"

"To what?"

"You know what,"

"Yeah, yeah I would have," and with that, I hang up and a few minutes later, I hear the crappy car I destroyed drive away.
