Chapter Three

Fuck my life.

I can't find G anywhere.

I want to go, I'm not good in social situations by myself, I've waked in on like 4 sex scenes right now.

"You look tense."
Who the fuck?
I turn around and it's the girl from earlier.
"Oh. Oh uh yeah, yeah, I mean I can't find my friend and it's pretty bat shit around here. But uh I should get going. Gotta find her."
"Calm down oh my god. Want a smoke?"
"Like a cigarette? Uh sure"
"Come with me"

I follow her back down the hallway and down the stairs outside to the pool.
I've never smoked in my life. She hands me a smoke and lights it for me. I try to pretend to know what I'm doing but I take in a deep breath and feel the cough and try to hold it down, but it's no use. I cough, and cough, and cough. I was close to vomiting when she spoke up
"Dude. I guess you've never smoked before?" She laughs.
"Yeah. Uh. No." I hand her back the cigarette and she takes a smoke, long. She holds eye contact while she does it.
"Okay. Well thanks for the 'cig' but uh, sorry I wasn't good at it."
"No that's fine" she laughs and looks down.
"Okay, well I'm going to try to find my friend." I start to walk away when she speaks up.
"Hey wait!"
"Yeah?"
"What's your name?"
"Oh, Taryn."
"I'm Ren."
"Cool."
"Yeah, I'll see you around Taryn."

I walk back inside to find G, but I'm super confused. I go to get a drink when I hear shouting.
G is standing on a table chugging beer.
Jesus Christ
I walk over.
"G!"
"Omg hey Taryn!"
"Let's go"
"You're not having fun?"
"I've had a grand time but I'm leaving."
"Okay, bye boysssss"
They all smile and she follows me out the door.
"Pretty successful night." She laughs.
I smile "yeah well I'm driving"

We drive back to the dorm and I take a shower.
I'm laying in my bed when G speaks up.
"What do you dream about?"
"Usually death. Is that weird?"
"Oh Taryn, you're a freak."
"Hey !"
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Go to sleep"

First night of college.
Successful.
