"Damn this place is crowded."
College kids and even highschool kids are all over the place, we got out of the car and there were kids passed out on the front lawn.

"Jesus Christ" G mumbled, laughing. "These kids are wasted."
I looked back at her, "Ya think?"
We both laugh and I look down at my outfit.

White shorts, and a low cut tank that has the nirvana logo on my torso.
My hair is down, and I look pretty damn good if I say so myself.

We walk into the house and there's even more people, I scan the room for Ren and can't place her.

"Let's go get a drink!" G was screaming so I could hear over the music. I nodded.

She poured me a beer and then herself the same. We leaned against the counter and I felt uncomfortable, when I see the couple basically swallowing each other next to me. I eyed G and gave her an oh my god look. She laughed. We began walking around and I soon lost her when we reached the living room. I walked back outside, still sipping my beer and looked around for Ren, Still no sign of her.

Was she even coming? Was it a big deal if she didn't? Well kinda, considering she invited me. Yeah, but why are you so concerned about where she is? I just expected to see her.
I continued fighting with myself when I felt a presence.

"Fancy seeing you here." The boy said lighting a cigarette.
I recognized him, but I couldn't place who he was.
"Yeah." I said, trying to remember his name.
"Camden." He said, holding out his hand "nice to meet you, again"
I felt the blood rush to my face as I stuck out my other hand.
"Sorry. I'm Taryn."
"I remember you,"
I laughed.
He pulled out a cigarette and I watched intently, how he pulled it out, tapped the end, and lit it. He looked over at me and held out the box,
"Want one?"
"Oh, no." I said, looking at the box. "I'm not very good at it from past experience."
"Let me show you how."
He took out a cigarette and put it in my mouth, he lit it, and began giving me steps.
"Inhale slow and steady, or it will hurt like a bitch. Don't hold for too long either."
I did what he said, careful not to inhale too much, and only held for a second or two and I breathed out. I still coughed, as I felt the burning in my throat.
"It's okay, you'll cough the first few times until your body is used to it. Drink some beer and take again."
I did what he said and it got easier.
"Okay. I think I got this," I said smiling.
"Good. It gets easier."

He leaned back against the house.
"How's the college life doing Ya?"
I thought about it so far,
"Well, my classes are boring, but the parties are pretty cool. And my roommates awesome."
"Lucky you, my roommates an overweight anime lover."
I laughed
"Don't laugh ! Do you know why I have to endure every night?"
I'm still laughing, "what?"
"He stays up and sews his cosplay costumes! What's he even gonna go as? Pikachu ?"
There's tears in my eyes I'm laughing so hard.
"You have a great laugh."
"You caused it."
"I'm gonna go Taryn, see you around?"
"Yeah."
And he was off.

I looked and I had finished my beer and I stomped out my cigarette. I looked down at my feet and began walking, as I looked up, I ran into something.

"Hey T"
I stuttered as I came up with a response for Ren, I looked into her eyes, I could get lost in them in a matter of seconds. The way she held herself, it was incredible. She was fearless, confident. and beautiful.
"H-hi"
"I'm glad you could make it."
"Me too"
"Getting another drink?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Well follow me."

I walked into the door following her, observing her walk. She walked with such a stride. She hadn't a care in the world. Her long white hair flowed behind her as she made her way across the house.

We ended up at a door at the end of a hallway.
"What is this?" I asked.
"You'll see"
She got down on both knees and grabbed something out of her back pocket and started messing with the lock, picking it, obviously.

After a few minutes she whispered
"Got it"
She stood up, and she was very close to me, I could feel her breath on my face and she put the bobby pin in her pocket.
"Come on" she whispered.

She opened the door and there was a set of stairs. As we walked Down the stairs the music began to fade. It was quiet and dark when we reached the bottom, except for the faint beating of the bass from upstairs.
She turned on a light and in the basement was a couch, against the back wall with a coffee table in front of it. We kept walking and around the corner was a pool table and skeeball. And in the back was a bar.

"How'd you know all this was down here?" I asked looking around.
"I've been to a few parties in my life. 3 of which have been here."
"Oh."
"Let me make you a drink."
She made me a vodka and cranberry drink. I sipped it as she watched me.
"That's good"
"Glad you like it"
I smiled.
"Can you play pool?" She said gesturing to the pool table behind us.
"I'm alright."

---

"Shit Taryn. You're beating my ass"
I smiled, feeling a lot more confident, credit probably due to the 3 vodka drinks, plus the beer I downed since I've been here.
I Stepped up to my next ball and swung up my pole, aiming at the next hole and taking the shot. It dropped right in.
I laughed, stepping back, with a smirk on my face.
"That's game. I can't believe you. You said you were 'alright'" Ren said, with a look of disbelief.
"I may have stretched the truth a little bit" I said mockingly as I picked up my drink.
She laughed as I sipped on my fifth drink of the night. She moved closer to me and pushed my hair out of my face, still smiling from our exciting game of pool.
She laid her hand on my arm and I set my drink down.

It felt like fire on my arm, it spread and my whole body was in flames. I couldn't breathe, her smile faded off her face as she looked into my eyes, I got lost In hers, lost to no return. She moved in closer and my breathing hitched, my stomach was doing flips and all I could do was stare. Her breathing was slow and calm but her eyes were so exciting. like fireworks.

She moved in, and before I knew it her lips were on mine.
