Don't think about it...

Stop thinking about it

Nari was curled up at the corner of an empty room in one of her teammates' house, with her hugging her knees and her head facing down, a solemn look on her face

Just like last time, did she wish to be in bed instead, sleeping

"Nari?"

A knock sounded at the door, telling her someone was outside

The door opened revealing Taehyung

"Why are you here?"

He asked, Nari looking up briefly, she noticed the thin layer of sweat on his face and the short breaths he let out, giving away that he's been looking for her this whole time

Calming himself, he made his way to his friend, bringing a vacant chair with him, he sat down facing her

Nari didn't even look up again, not in the mood to be explaining why she was acting this way

But Taehyung being Taehyung, noticing his friend's gloomy aura, he wanted to lighten the mood

"Yah, what's wrong?"

His voice sounding around the once quiet room, waiting for a response before continuing

"You're acting like as if you lost"

He chuckled, but then stopped when Nari kept quiet

"Considering you being the championship point, I don't get why your sad"

He said, still trying to get anything out of her , any response or movement

But when Nari still didn't look up Taehyung stood up from his chair, worry etched on his face, making his way to her side, he sat down, legs crossed with a hand gently placed on her shoulder

He knew the reason why she was acting this way but didn't want to push it because he knew it was a sensitive topic, so he decided to talk to her slowly

He also knew that she's never told anyone else besides him, giving him the
responsibility to listen to her if it was about her past, not that he minded

"Hey... if this is about that, I'm here to listen, don't thi-"

"Please, I want to be alone..." Nari said, not in the mood to talk

Taehyung, knowing his limits and knowing that this wasn't going to go anywhere, stood up again, but before making his way outside, he offered his friend a look of sympathy

"I'll come back later", then he was out, leaving Nari in her own little bubble again, thinking

Great, how could you push away your best friend, acting like you didn't need him

Nari let out a frustrated sigh

So now you've won, what now?

The voices in her head were filling her mind again

The quiet room not helping either as the absence of sound gave the voices in her head the advantage to be heard more

It dosen't change anything, it dosen't change what they think about you

She looked at the ceiling, closing her eyes, tears were pooling around them, trying her best to keep them in

You are so weak

You're still a failure, you're still a disappointment

She was right and you were wrong, you were always wrong

At this point Nari couldn't take it anymore, her past coming to haunt her again and again and again

She covered her eyes with both her trembling hands, crying into them

Frustrated, sad, angry tears were all falling at once, down her face, to her neck, and onto her clothes, soaking them

Sobs were coming out of her mouth, sounding around the whole room

"Stop! Stop!"

She kept on saying, shaking her head

You will never be enough

Never

She was already too tired, too tired to fight back the voices, the hurt

The thin sheet of water on her forehead and short puffs of air she took were proof of her exhaustion

Her eyes drooping to a close, hoping to make everything stop

She knew she couldn't do it alone

She didn't want to do it alone

She needed someone to hold her hand and guide her out

Out of the shadows she's been living

Out and into the light

. . .

Then she felt it

Warmth

Comforting warmth of someone's arms

She was brought to someone's chest, the cotton on her face was soft

Someone's arms were around her, encaging her shaking form

She was so busy crying, she didn't even notice someone enter the room

"It's okay..."

His gentle voice making her eyes go wide

At this rate, she didn't have the energy anymore, but slowly looking up, his face was right in front of her

His hooded, big doe eyes looking down at her with the most gentle look she's ever seen and with a light smile adorning his face

Despite the closeness of both their faces, Nari being too fatigue to pull away and go home, she stayed

She allowed herself to fall back on his chest, crying her heart out, while he continued to whisper comforting words into her ear

"It's okay..."

Oh how much the tables have turned

He thought, remembering the night at his house

But this was different, both of them sober and fully aware of the situation happening

"Thank you"

Nari said in her tired state, trying to keep her teary eyes open, her small voice reaching to his ears, she sounded so broken, making Jungkook pull her now sleeping form closer to his chest, constantly patting her back gently

A small smile appeared on his face, taking in the moment of her calm state in his embrace

"No..."

"Thank you"
