Nari and Taehyung strolled pass the streets of late night Seoul, looking at various shops while making their way back, both of them happily eating their flavored shaved ice

One would offer to eat patbingsu if they knew they had to cheer the other up, that was how Nari and Taehyung did it

When Nari came back to Korea from the States at 16, they both met at their later years of high school and became friends, they both became close because of their love for sports

While walking and eating at a comfortable silence, Taehyung couldn't help but think about the earlier conversation he had with Nari at the restaurant

The mention of her older brother made him curious about her current relationship with him

Were they constantly talking, chatting, calling?

Knowing that her brother has played a big role in Nari's life, up until know, he wanted to know too of his wellbeing

After taking another bite of his dessert, he decided to ask her

"How's he doing?"

Looking at him, Nari didn't know at first who he was referring to

"Who?"

Taking a bite, she continued to look at him, waiting for his reply

"Jin hyung..."

He glanced at her, wanting to see her reaction

"Oh"

She looked ahead again, wanting to ignore the question but realized that there was no reason to do so

"Well, I haven't been contacting him recently, he hasn't been either"

She noticed some tables and chairs outside a convenience store they were passing by, she led them both their to have a seat before continuing

"Why?"

After they settled down he asked

"I just... I've been having mixed feelings towards him lately..."

She glanced at him, seeing that his full attention was on her

"The week before the game I told him that we made it to the finals... and Jin being Jin, he was ecstatic"

She chuckled at the memory of when her brother was shouting and hyping her up over their video call, his windshield wiper laugh was as contagious as ever

"He suddenly told me that he was going to book a flight and come to watch, but I don't really think he thought it through that time, but me being me, I was so happy and I eventually got my hopes up...."

"Then the day before the game he told me that he wasn't going to be able to make it"

She said, her face visibly dropping

"I just... agh, I don't know"

"I understand that he's got his own dreams to pursue, and he's been very busy lately, getting promoted and all, I couldn't be happier for him... but I just wished he spared some time to come see me"

"I know I have no right to feel this way after all he's done for me, it's just not fair to him"

"Call me selfish, but I haven't seen him ever since his last visit here on my 17th birthday,  I'm 19 now, it's been two years, two years Tae"

What she said reminded Taehyung of the first time he met her brother, he stayed in Korea just for a month, but it was just enough time for him to get to know him, he was a kind-hearted guy and could easily tell he loved his sister very much, Jin also treated Taehyung like a little brother and Taehyung also treated Jin like a big brother, the younger grew attached to him very quickly

Nari looked up at the the starry night sky as she let out a sigh and closed her eyes

"It's just that ever since that day, he's become my only family... it was just so hard coping here all by myself, until now actually"

Glancing at her friend, he too was looking up above

Looking down at her, he took her hand in his own, making Nari look at their intertwined hands with sadness

"I just miss him"

"I bet you do"

She smiled at his words, their eyes still looking at each other

Their patbingsu was long gone, their empty cups were on the table, they both continued to look up at the sky

With some people walking pass them here and there, with only a few cars on the road because of the time, everything served as background noises, it was soothing for both of them

Disturbing the calm atmosphere, she heard Taehyung shuffling

She looked at his way to see his eyes wide, as if just realizing something, he continued to feel the pockets of his hoodie

Sighing, he stood up from his chair

Nari looked at him, asking why

"I left my wallet at the patbingsu place"

She chuckled at her friend's mistake, standing up too and picking up their trash and throwing it to a nearby bin

"It hasn't been long, if we run back, our asses could still find your wallet"

Taehyung looked at Nari, a small smile making it's way to his face, accompanied with a small chuckle

"My ass, you mean"

"I'll go, you can wait for me here"

"You sure?"

She asked

Taehyung nodded his head, then started walking backwards, going back to where they came from

"Don't ditch me, alright?!"

He shouted

The people around them looked at their way, checking to see who was causing a slight commotion

Shut up

Nari mouthed, embarrassed at her friend's behavior

Laughing at her reaction, he then turned away playfully and jogged his way back to where they bought their patbingsu

. . .

Looking around the drinks section, Jungkook was scanning each refrigerator display in the store

Despite it being at a late hour, banana milk was always an exception

Finally finding his beloved milk, he took a pack and scurried his way to the counter to pay for it

"Thank you"

He told the old woman behind the cashier then walked to the exit

Before going out, he took out his straw, then popping it on top of one of the bottles, taking a small sip, he loved the familiar fruity and creamy flavor of the drink going down his throat

Having satisfied his late night craving, he was ready to go back to the dorms

Right when he was about to go out, a familiar looking woman passed by the doors of the store

"Wait, isn't that..."

Quickly exiting, to see if he wasn't hallucinating or something, he looked at the way the woman has gone to

"Nari?"

The girl seemed to be in a hurry, as if she was trying to catch up to someone

He hasn't seen her all day since yesterday, he's actually been wanting to talk to her, a real conversation this time

"Nari!"

He shouted, trying to get her attention, hoping they could talk, but she was already too far away to hear

I'm not loosing this chance

Not giving up, he decided to catch up to her, picking up his pace, not wanting to lose sight of her

Who could of thought his quick trip to the store for banana milk could end up becoming a bigger situation?
