Samantha always loved her birthday. Every day she would countdown to her next birthday, she would always throw the biggest parties, and make her birthday be a birth week. It was the best part of her year.
But this year things were different.
Ever since he died, Samantha hasn't felt like herself. What she used to make a week-long celebration, today was just the knowledge that she was getting older, that she had a bigger number to call her age.
maybe someday she will get that happiness of knowing it was her birthday back, but for now, it was gone.

I've come to peace with the idea of these being like bits of stories instead of a story themselves. Most oft hem, at least for now, won't really have a plot, but I'm ok with it. As long as I enjoy writing, I will keep on doing these bits.
