"So, how do we proceed," Sypha asked stepping forward.
"Have the speakers left" Alucard questioned looking down at drawings again.
"Ya, they have safely left already" I answered.
" I'm sorry. And Sypha, you will see them again soon, in Far happier circumstances." Alucard looked over his shoulder at Sypha with a small smile. It almost looked fake to me.
Sypha then glared at Trevor as he walked away shoulders slumped forward.
" see? He knows how to be nice." Sypha scowled at Trevor.
"Is it true, then? The castle can travel somehow? We know the stories, but sometimes, it's hard to separate myth from truth." Sypha asked looking at Alucard again.
" tell her about Dracula Castle, Elkhart. Her day can't get any more ruined." Trevor called out to him as he pried open a wooden case.
" Dracula's castle moves. How to describe it? It travels without moving. It appears that locations as if...well as if my magic" Alucard tried to explain while leaning back on his hands.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Trevor had pulled out a bottle of Ale from the wooden case.
I was about to get up, to go take it from him when I noticed that the bottom of the bottle was completely shattered off. A look of utter disappointment and sadness appeared on his face as he gazed at the broken bottle.
" I want to go home," Trevor grumbled loud enough for Sypha to hear.
I let out a sigh knowing that these two or more than likely going to argue so I stood up and dusted myself off.
"I'll be outside if you need me. I've got a lot to think about" I told them walking out the hole in the house.
Before anyone could stop me I was gone.
After a few moments, Sypha came outside and looked at me.
"Could you please watch these two while I go get us a covered wagon and some horses?" she asked irritation clear in her voice at the two bickering children men in the house.
"Ya, I won't let them kill each other" I waved her off. Watching Alucard and Trevor.
"Oh, please. Were not children" Alucard stated looking over at us.
I let out a chuckle at the defeated look on Sypha's face as she walked away.
"Eat shit and die" Trevor pointed at Alucard in a childish way.
"Yes, fuck you." Was Alucards childish response back.
This caused me to let out a real joyous filled laugh. The two men followed my actions by letting out their own laughs.
But what I seemed to not have noticed was that they both froze and watched me laugh with a faint dusting of pink on their cheeks.
I soon was able to calm myself down and I smiled at the two. They could be very close friends one day.
I walked back over to them and sat in between the two of them.
" you really believe we could find the tool to kill Dracula at your old home?" I looked over at Trevor. Yes, I did listen to them when they talked.
" be honest with you, I don't have a better idea. I just know that right now, we are under-equipped for the job." Trevor looked over at me.
"I'm trusting you, Belmont. Don't make me regret it" Alucard looked at Trevor with hard golden eyes.
"Everybody regrets it in the end, " Trevor stated causing me to look at him.
Would he make me regret trusting him?
---------sunset---------
After a few hours, the sun had started to go down. Not long ago Sypha had returned. Somehow she had managed to get a covered wagon and two Horses along with some supplies. I don't know how she did it, but she did.
Trevor and Sypha sat in the front steering the horses while I sat in the back with Alucard.
I starred out the open back of the wagon watching as the city disappeared into the distance.
Not much was said between us. It was still strange. 4 complete strangers banded together to save the human race and kill the King of Vampires.
It was quiet until Sypha decided to open her mouth. Something I wished she didn't.
"We know a lot about each other but we don't really know a lot about you, Freydís" Sypha looked back at me.
Trevor looked at her with wide eyes and sent a glare her way. Alucard did the same.
"What do you want to know" I whispered looking in front of me.
"Where are you from" her wide eyes watched me.
"I'm originally from a far off place called Norway. I lived in a small fishing village there" I explained.
Her eyebrows scrunched in confusion.
"If you are from such a far off place then why are you here? Where is your family?" She wondered.
I stiffened at the question.
"I'm not here by choice. My family sold me when I was 6" I stated clenching my fists.
She went silent for a moment.
"Is that why you have scars on your wrists" she gestured to my shackle scars.
"Sypha" Trevor hissed looking at her angrily.
"It's fine Trevor. I'm used to this. If I am to travel with you. You should know about me" I stopped him.
"Yes, my scars are from me being a slave. I was shackled most of my life. And before you ask, yes I have lots of scars. I have another set of shackle scars on my ankles along with some scars on my back and a branding on my hip" I explained clenching my eyes shut trying to rid the memories trying to break through my mental wall.
"Branding" she wondered?
Does she ever shut up?!
"All slaves must be branded. They take a burning hot piece of metal with a design and press it against your skin. The mark shows you are a slave" I whispered my hand sliding to my hip side where my brand mark was.
I felt a gentle hand grab it. Looking over I saw that Alucard was giving me a soft smile. Telling me I did not have to answer.
"I got a question for you. You said you've seen Dracula. Care to explain that" Trevor looked over at me.
Letting out a sigh.
"Dracula spared my life from a demon because I tried to save his wife." Was my brief explanation.
Before Trevor could respond Alucard cut him off.
"I think that's enough for now" his commanding showed no room for argument.
"Thank you" I whispered to him leaning my head against his shoulders.
I actually felt tired for once. Normally I had a horrible time trying to sleep. My sleep was normally plagued by nightmares and memories. It's been like that for years.
When Alucard felt my headrest on his shoulder he had tensed but did not move. Instead, he watched as my eyes slowly slid closed.
A smile made its way onto his lips and he relaxed. Not caring about the glare being sent his way by a certain hunter.
