With Trevor and Sypha
The two Sat leaning against a chest near the broken mirror, the only light coming from a single candle.
" it's lonely even when you're standing next to him. It's strange." Sypha whispered looking off into the distance.
Trevor looked over at her curiously.
"How so?""I'm not sure" she whispered.
" he's intelligent, sometimes even witty, in his way. And he certainly half-human. More than half-human. He's a person in his own right. But it's like he's a cold spot in the room." Sypha confessed.
"It's not like your sadness or Freydís."
" I'm not sad" Trevor denied.
"Yes, you are"
" but I can shout at you or tease you and get a reaction that lets me know you're still in there. His sadness is like an icy well. It's bottomless. And it swallows up your voice, and anything you try to drop into it." Sypha continued.
"But Freydís..... It's so hard to tell. She smiles and laughs but her eyes look like they hold the weight of the world. It's like she's trapped within herself. Her sadness is a never-ending wall with a single door locked tight. You can't go around it, neither over or under it. The only way through is the door. But it won't ever open. " Sypha recalled remembering how the Crimson Eyed Girls eyes used to be before Trevor yelled at her. They had some kind of light in them. But now they looked dull, like a doll.
But a smile made its way onto her face as she remembered something.
"Yet it seems the bottomless well is filling up and the never-ending wall is falling down," Sypha recalls how whenever she caught Alucard looking at Freydís his eyes would lighten up and a smile would make its way onto his face.
He seemed so much more happy with her around.
Just like how Freydís seemed so much more happy around him. She sees herself as a tool, that no one could love. She's used to seeing what she loves being taken away.
Sypha could tell from the way she holds herself, how she doesn't try to get close. Her smile and laugh we're fake anyone could tell.
"They will be good for each other" Sypha confirmed out loud.
"What do you mean" Trevor was completely clueless.
Letting out a chuckle Sypha leaned her head against Trevor's shoulder.
"You'll see" was her response it was quiet for a few moments. It wasn't awkward. It was comforting.
"Am I really sad?"
"All the time"
The two talked for a few more moments before Sypha finally gave in to sleep along with Trevor.
Alucard and Freydís
Alucard held the sleeping woman tightly to him, one of his arms securely wrapped around her waist.
The other was playing with her long black locks.
His gaze was stuck on her sleeping relaxed face.
He had not known this woman long yet she already held a special place in his heart.
He was brought out of his thoughts as the sleeping woman squirmed. Her hands gripped onto his shirt tightly as she let out a whimper.
Quickly Alucard cupped her face and brought her even closer to him.
Leaning down he pressed his lips to the top of her head.
"It is all right. You are safe" he whispered against her hair before pressing a kiss to her head.
She stopped squirming and whimpering and soon was relaxed against him once again but her hands did not release his shirt.
Alucard leaned his head back closing his eyes.
He could hear her slow steady heartbeat. It was like a lullaby to his ears. He could sit there for hours just listening to it. It was slow yet strong.
His mind then wandered back to what had happened only a few hours ago.
The spark in her eyes was back but it was dim. Like a candle about to burn out. That thought scared him, he refused to let that flame go out! He would cherish that flame until it grew into a burning fire.
She sees herself so darkly, it killed him to know what she thinks of herself.
From the look in her eyes, she truly did believe he did not care for her. That he would use her and throw her away.
He could never do that to her. It would take time but he knew he felt strongly for her. He would show her, her beauty, her talents, everything that made her so amazingly unique.
When he had seen her in the moonlight smelling the flower it felt like his world was frozen. She looked almost like an angel. She didn't look real. That single image would be carved into his mind forever. He did not wish to ever forget it.
For the rest of the night, Alucard stayed where he was. With the sleeping human woman in his arms.
