Chapter 6: Mom?

....A month....a whole month without a certain human Titan running around. Erwin was worried about Levi so he would periodically check on the raven haired man.

"Levi? Are you alright? You haven't left the room since you came in." He asked in a worried tone.

"I'm fine." He snapped. Erwin, knowing Levi, he didn't flinch at his harsh tone. Erwin sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"That child really did change you..." Erwin mumbled. Levi clicked his tongue. Levi didn't want to admit it himself but the kid did change him. He didn't care though.

"Does it matter? This is humanity's last hope. I can't have him dying now." He lied. He loved his adopted son to death. It wouldn't just kill Eren, but it would internally kill Levi.

"Levi, I know you care about him. You may act like you don't, but you do. And that's fine. Because I know what you're going through." Erwin said sadly.

"How do you know?" Levi asked in a sharp tone, with a bit of curiosity.

"I lost my brother...in a fire. I wasn't able to save him. I was trying to run with him but he pushed me out when the debris was about to fall on me. Instead of me, it landed on him. He died instantly. I felt like I was nothing without him. But I made a promise to him. I promised him that I would save this world from the Titans. I kept that promise and I'm still going to keep it until the day I die." He said. For once, he felt bad for him. He looked away, not wanting Erwin to see any emotion on his face.

"I know it's too late to say this, but I'm sorry for your loss." He said sadly. I turned my attention back to my son, who might be dying soon.

"It's alright." He said and sighed. It was silent. "How about we go for a walk? You need some air." Erwin said with a smile. Levi was hesitant. He didn't know if he wanted to stay and wait for his son to wake or leave. Erwin rolled his eyes and grabbed Levi's hand surprising the shorter male. "He's fine." Erwin said and closed the door. Levi looked back to see Eren's closed door. He sighed and gave in.

'Where am I?' Eren thought. He seen nothing, which scared him. 'Heichou? Heichou!' He screamed. Tears fell from his face. 'Help!' He screamed. He closed his eyes and furiously wiped them away. He was surrounded by darkness. He wanted his dad. 'Dad...' He said with a trembling voice. Suddenly, there was a flash of light far from him. His eyes lit up and he tried to reach it but it was so far. It looked like it was running away from him.

'Eren! Don't go to the light!' A female voice said. Eren stopped and looked around.

'Who are you?' Eren asked. He looked in all directions but couldn't see her. 'Please, can you help me?' Eren said.

'I'm you biological mother and I'll do what I can.' She said. Eren was shocked.

'Mom?' He asked a bit confused with a hint of shock. He remembered his mom and how the whole incident happened with the Titans.

'Yes.' She appeared in front of Eren and smiled. She was wearing a white dress with a flower crown on her head. 'It's been a while Eren.' She smiled and opened her arms. Eren ran into her arms and weeped. Eren's mom smiled as a few tears fell.

'Mommy! I mi *hiccup* missed you so *hiccup* much!' Eren cried out.

'Mommy missed you, too.' She said and chuckled with tears. 'You were around this age when you tried to scare me. Remember you were in the sheets and you made the most ridiculous face?' She said and attempted to hold her laugh. Eren giggled and smiled at the woman. Carla didn't want this to end, but she knew Eren was still needed. Not just for humanity, but for Levi.
