Toph's POV

"Uh, I'm so tired." I groaned, "I don't want to wake up yet!"

I've been working as Chief of Police at Cranefish Town for the past seven years, and I decided to take a break for a month.

I stood up from my small bed. I was in Ba Sing Se, relaxing in a small house I rented. I was planning to go somewhere like Omashu or Ember Island, but I guess a vacation's a vacation.

My vacation wasn't that eventful. I mean, what am I suppose to expect from Ba Sing Se?

"I should probably just start packing. I'd rather be at home than be alone in boring ol' Ba Sing Se." I thought to myself.

I walked towards the bathroom. It's time for the worst part of the day, morning preparation.

Ever since I started living at Cranefish Island, daily life became hard. I had to prepare myself everyday, and it's not easy to do that being blind and all.

I slipped my clothes off and untied my hair. I took off the meteorite bracelet Sokka gave me and laid it on the sink. After I successfully prepared myself to step in the bath tub, I did just that.

"Fresh and cozy!" I exclaimed. I tied my hair into the bun that I always rolled with.

I stepped out of the bathroom but I realized I forgot something. It was Sokka's bracelet. I stepped back and grabbed the bracelet. I put it back on my arm.

I've cherished this piece of meteorite ever since Sokka gave it to me. It gives me a sense of safety in some way.

I walked towards my bed and grabbed my sling bag. I used my earth bending to help me locate my items, and I also used it to help me put my belongings in the bag.

I walked out of the house, breathing the air of Ba Sing Se's upper ring. I put one step forward but was met with a weird sensation on my left shoulder.

I dodged whatever touched me, but the thing ended up attacking me.

"What the heck is this?" I asked in an annoyed town as I tried to grab whatever it was, "Oh wait, it's a bird!"

I set the bird on the ground and touched it's a leg to see if there was a letter. There was a small letter tightly tied on it's right leg. "Indeed, it's a messenger hawk!"

I took the letter with me and sighed, "Whoever wrote this letter is some stupid dunderhead. Why would you send me a letter when I'm blind?"

I decided to go to Jasmine Dragon. Iroh might be able to help me read this piece of paper.

I walked over and greeted him, "Good morning, Uncle Iroh!"

Iroh was surprised to see me, "My-my, if it isn't Toph. What brings you here?"

"Give me some tea and read this letter for me." I requested, showing Iroh the letter I received.

I gave Iroh the paper as he set a hot cup of tea on my table. I sipped on the tea as Iroh started reading.

Letter Addressed to Toph Beifong
Hey Toph! If you want, can you please visit the South Pole for the Glacier Spirits festival? Everyone will be there. Hope to see you come.

Your buddy, Sokka

"That's all." Iroh told me. I could feel his heart beat was slow and normal, so he felt happy.

"From Sokka?" I asked as clarification.

"Yes." Iroh responded, "Are you going?"

I grinned, "Of course! I'd love to see everyone after such a long time. It's a great way to catch up on stuff."

"I see." Iroh said happily, "Do you want me to write a response letter?"

"Nah." I replied, "I'll just go there immediately."

"If I can recall, the Glacier Spirits Festival is still four days from now." Iroh informed me, "You should probably go there by then. Zuko and the other folks will probably be there by that day as well."

"It's fine! The earlier I get to meet Sokka, the better!" I exclaimed happily, not realizing what I just said.

"Hm?" Iroh responded, "Do you like him?"

I was shook when I heard this question, "W-What? No! Like? S-Sokka?"

"You're blushing. You do, don't you?" Iroh suggested.

I could feel myself tensing. Why do I feel this way? I don't actually like him, right?

I shook my head 'no' and ran off. Using my seismic sense, I looked for the nearest ship port. I sensed one just a couple blocks away. I ran there and boarded a ship that was sailing to the South.

"I guess I'm going there now!" I smiled, "I'm so excited."
