Toph's POV
"Attention everyone! We've arrived at the South Pole!" The announcement echoed throughout the boat's inner room.
I rented a private room in the boat. It was first class, and I got it using my Beifong ID.
"Being a Beifong is great!" I chuckled
The one-day trip from Ba Sing Se really made me drowsy. However, it's so exciting to finally meet my friends again.
I ran out of the room and happily ran towards the outside of the boat, but I was stopped by an old lady.
"Uh, what's your problem, ma'am?" I scoffed at her.
"You shouldn't be going outside in those clothes!" She scolded me, "It's extremely cold. You're not even wearing shoes."
"Oh, uh, yeah." I responded, "Sorry for getting mad."
The old lady took my hand, "No worries. Follow me. I'll give you some nice warm clothes, young lady."
I reluctantly followed her, "I'm too tired to get dressed, ugh."
"Here you go, young lady." She said, handing over a comfy sweater and a pair of boots.
I wore the sweater and tucked my feet in the boots. "Ugh, I hate wearing shoes!"
I thanked the lady and walked off. However, as I walked towards the exit of the room, I hit the wall hard.
"Shit." I swore, "These boots make it really hard to see."
The old lady approached me once more, "Wait what? You didn't tell me you're blind! You can't go alone!"
She grabbed my arm and started dragging me across the room. I was scared because I had no idea what was happening.
I shook myself until she lost grip of me and I ran off on to a certain direction.
I could feel the cold wind blasting on my pale skin. "Darn it. It's freezing!"
I soon locate a nearby building. My seismic sense was fuzzy but I could still see a few things.
I entered the building and sighed with relief when I realized it was a small restaurant.
I approached what I assumed was the cashier and ordered, "Can ya give me the store's specialty?"
"Sure thing!" The cashier responded joyfully, "That'll be a 15 yuan."
I handed over the payment. "Phew, good thing I brought some money."
I sat down across the store and was served puffin-seal sausages. As I ate, I sensed my surroundings to better visualize my environment.
I finished my food and approached the cashier once more. "Hey, do you know Sokka?" I asked.
The cashier responded, "You mean Chief Hakoda's son?"
"Yes, him!" I replied, happy to know that he is present, "Where does he live?"
"He lives just a couple blocks from here." They informed me, "Just go forward until you see an intersection and go right. His house should be just down there."
"Alright, thanks." I walked out of the store and followed the instructions. The snow made it really hard for me to locate his house but I soon did.
I touched the metal framework of the door. "There he is!" I thought to myself as I sensed him.
"Sorry, Sokka." I giggled before I banged on his poor metal door.
I could sense Sokka walking towards the door. He opened the door and was greeted by me, "Well, hello, ol' friend meat head!" I chuckled, punching him lightly in the stomach.
