Toph's POV

"Satoru!" I screamed, "Wait, please!"

Satoru looked back, "What do you want, Miss Beifong?"

I cleared my throat, "I never had the chance to tell you this, but I like you. In fact, I love you." I blurted out.

"You do?" Satoru chuckled, "Well, that's pretty funny."

Satoru walked away, laughing. How could he do that to me? I genuinely loved him and he treats me that way? He broke my heart. How dare he!

"It was all just a dream." I thought. It was morning and I just woke up.

I moved my body around when I feel an arm around me. I touched it and moved my hands towards the person's face.

"Sokka!" I shouted. I darted away from him. "What were we doing? Why was he hugging me?"

Sokka woke up, "Good morning, Toph."

"Why were you hugging me?" I asked.

"I was?" Sokka questioned. "O-Oh yeah. Oh my gosh, Toph, I'm so so—."

"I-It's fine." I remember what happened last night and blush. "I can't believe Sokka hugged me while we slept. That's so i-indecent!"

I stood up, "I'm getting ready." I took my sling bag and entered the comfort room across the hallway.

Sokka exited the room and went downstairs. "I'll cook breakfast."

I entered the room and locked the door. "Was he really just hugging me?" I blushed at the thought of Sokka holding me.

I slipped my clothes off and turned on the water. "Oh gosh!" I shouted. I didn't expect the water to be this cold.

Sokka ran upstairs, "Are you okay?" He knocked on the door.

"Yeah!" I responded, "I didn't know water was this cold in the South Pole."

He chuckled, "Well, get used to it." I sensed him walk back downstairs. Have I mentioned before that Sokka's footsteps were always easy to distinguish from another's? His footsteps felt strong and fierce. Every step Sokka takes, there was no hesitation with where he was to set his foot.

I finished my bath and put my fresh new clothes on. I tied my hair into the usual bun I rolled with and headed out the room.

"Whatever Sokka's cooking, I think it's going to be good." I thought to myself as I smelled the aroma of the food.

"Whachu' cookin', Captain Boomerang?" I asked jokingly.

"Seaweed stew." Sokka answered, placing the pot on his small dining table.

"Stew? Don't you ever eat anything solid?" I joked.

"Hey, if you don't want to eat, that's fine with me." Sokka scoffed.

I laughed, "Hand me some." Sokka took a bowl and poured some stew. He handed it over to me, making sure I wouldn't get burned. I thanked him for the food and rested on his couch, "How relaxing."

While I ate, I sensed something perch itself on the window. "Sokka, something's there." Sokka entered the living room. "It's Hawky!" He said gleefully, "He has a letter."

Sokka took hold of the bird and read the letter. "What does it say?" I asked, curious. "It's a letter from Aang and Katara. They'll be arriving today." Sokka claimed. I could hear the happiness in his voice.

"Great!" I exclaimed, "I don't have to spend my time with you all the time."

"Hey, I take offense to that." He rolled his eyes, "I guess we should wait for them."

"Sure." I replied, finishing my bowl of stew and setting it on the table. As I sat their quietly on the couch, I slowly drifted to sleep.

"Toph!"

"Huh? Who's there?"

"It's me. Let's head out!"

"W-Who?"

"Me! Darn it, come on!"

I didn't have enough time to react when I fell into the cold layer of snow. "Oh, I fell asleep." I was outside, in the freezing cold, with Sokka.

"Why'd you disrupt my sleep?" I asked him angrily.

"Aang and Katara are at my father's office. We should go see them!" Sokka informed me. He held my hand and dragged me as he ran across the thick snow.

These boots I was wearing made it really hard to see. "Sokka! I can walk on my own!" I screamed.

He laughed, "I know it's hard for you to see in the snow, Toph. Just let me help you."

I nodded in agreement. "Fine."

~

"Sokka! Toph!" I heard the familiar voice.

"Sugar Queen!" I mocked her, "What's up?"

Sokka and I laughed. "I see you still have that attitude, Toph." Katara sneered, "Aang is inside with Hakoda. You guys should go greet him."

"Aang!" Sokka shouted, "It's been such a long time!" Sokka ran towards Aang, embracing him.

Aang laughed, "Hi Sokka!". Aang looked at me, "Hey Sifu Toph!"

"What's up, Twinkle Toes?" I teased, letting out a small chuckle. Aang sighed, "I guess I'll have to get used to you calling me that forever."

I throw a weak punch at Aang as a symbol of my affection. "Hahaha! Of course you do that." Aang giggled, "You haven't changed, Toph."

I sneered, "Well, you've changed a lot Twinkle Toes. From the looks of it, you're taller than Katara now!"

Aang smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder, "Well, scratch what I said earlier. In terms of appearance, you've changed too." Aang paused. "I think Sokka thinks that too."

"W-What?" Sokka joined in, "Why'd you put me in the convo?"

"You've been staring at Toph for 20 straight seconds now." Aang said, raising his eyebrows as he elbowed Sokka softly. My cheeks were tinted light pink.

"Hey, Aang!" Katara shushed him, "Sokka has Suki." Aang commented, "Gee golly, I forgot! Sorry, Sokka."

Sokka choked, "O-Oh yeah, it's fine." I could feel Sokka's heartbeat get faster. "I don't think Sokka wants them to know about their breakup"

I laughed, trying to make the conversation less awkward. "Let's head out somewhere to eat." I suggested.

They all nodded and we exited the building. We walked towards the nearest restaurant and entered.

"Wow!" Aang shouted, "Are these your favorite steamed dumplings, Katara?"

Katara laughed, "Well, not exactly, sweetie."
