Toph's POV

"I guess I'm okay with it." Sokka mumbled under his own breath. "Just stop bringing it up."

"Alright then." Aang replied. "Just remember, if you want to talk about it, we're here for you." Aang smiled. He was insisting Sokka to open up. He always believed that being open about your feelings was good but I guess it isn't true for all people.

Silence filled the room. I closed my eyes, pretending to fall asleep. Does it really matter though? I can't see either way.

After a few seconds of awkward silence in the small room, Sokka spoke up, "Do you think I made the right decision?"

Aang tilted his head at Sokka, "What decision?"

"Dumping her for you know—not coming." Sokka sighed, "Now that I'm thinking about it even deeper, it's such a shallow reason to dump her for."

"Well if I'll be honest, I think dumping her wa—" Aang was interrupted by Katara. "It was a good idea, Sokka. Suki didn't come when you needed her." Katara comforted her older brother.

"Did I really need her though?" Sokka questioned himself. "What if I was just being selfish? She was busy with her job but I desperately wanted her to be here for some stupid festival. I was just forcing her when she was doing something right for the world."

"No, you were—" Katara was cut off.

"If it hurt you, then that's enough of a reason to dump her." I butted in. "Both sides matter in a relationship. If one side isn't happy then the relationship is better off gone."

The room was silent. I guess no one expected me to actually say something. I cleared my throat, preparing to say something else. "Long distance relationships are hard to maintain and we can all understand that. Stop blaming yourself for everything."

"Toph is right, Sokka." Aang commented. "Relationships only last when both of you are happy. Look at me and Katara! We are happy and look how we turned out."

"Wow, thanks for comparing my awful relationship to yours, Aang." Sokka rolled his eyes.

"No, that's not what I me—" Aang was cut off.  "Yeah! Fine, fine. I get it!" Sokka yelled, gritting his teeth.

"Look, what Aang and Toph are trying to say is you should know that your feelings matter too. The relationship doesn't revolve around Suki only." Katara told him.

Sokka slammed his fist on the coffee table. "I know, I know! I can understand what you guys are trying to say!"

"Oh, dear." I thought to myself.

"I know you guys want me to feel better." Sokka spoke "But you guys don't understand! I'm the one who dumped her over something important to her. I feel like I'm being selfish."

Before Katara and Aang could even respond, he ran upstairs. He slammed the door closed and I could hear him jump on to his bed.

"I'll go a—" Aang was interrupted. "No. Leave him be." Katara shushed Aang.

"But why?"

"He needs some alone time to think this through. I know Sokka. He can recover from this."

I sighed, "We should just have never brought that topic up."

"It's almost the middle of the night. I'm going to sleep." I informed Aang and Katara. I tilted my body away from the couple and slept.
