Sokka's POV

"I wonder when the crew is going to arrive. I'm so excited to meet them." I thought to myself.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

"Jeez." I muttered, annoyed at the banging noise on my door, "Whoever the hell this is, they better be here for business."

I head over to the door, expecting some crazy business man who wanted to offer life insurance. However, I met someone far from a business man. It was Toph, my old friend. I gladly welcomed her to my humble home.

"Hello, my ol' friend, Captain Boomerang!" Toph joked, punching me in the gut.

"Ouch, what was that for?" I sneered at her.

"In case you don't remember, that's how I show affection." She grinned, patting me on the back as she sat on my couch.

Hearing her say that made me happy. Toph hasn't changed one bit.

"Hey, Captain Boomerang!" She shouted, "You better give your honored guest some food."

I walked over to her, "What do you want?"

"Something that's not so heavy. I actually just ate." She replied, smirking.

I sighed and walked over to the kitchen. I'm not a good cook. Hopefully, my food won't be that bad.

I took out a bag of uncooked sea prunes and filled a pot with water, "Stewed sea prunes should be good enough."

I lit a fire and transfered the water-filled pot on top of it. As I finished preparing the pot, I see Toph enter the room.

This was the first time I took a good look at Toph, and I realized she had changed.

"You know, I'm feeling good today, Sokka. Let me he—"

I interrupted Toph, "Wow, you look great!"

"Excuse me?" She responded, visibily taken aback, "What do you mean by that?"

"Well compared to when we last met when you were thirteen, you look beautiful." I blurted out.

I covered my mouth and Toph's cheeks flushed bright red.

"H-How dare you comment on my appearance!" She responded.

She looked back and I approached her, "Wait, sorry, that came out wrong."

"No, it's fine." Toph responded, smiling, "No guy has ever called me that before."

I smile, "Well, I guess there's a first for everything."

Toph continued to blush, "Just let me help you, Sokka."

I step aside, "How's the blind lady going to help me?"

"I'm supposed to take offense by that but seeing how we're good friends, I'll let that go." She responded sarcastically. She used her earthbending to transfer the heated pot on the table.

I grabbed the bag of uncooked sea prunes and steamed them using the fire I lit.

I dropped it on the pot and grabbed two bowls. I poured some stewed sea prunes on both of the bowls and handed one over to Toph.

"It's still hot so be careful." I warned her.

"Heat won't stop the greatest earthbender of all time!" She claimed slyly and took a sip from the boiling stew.

I chuckled at her antics and walked back to the main living room where I sat on the couch. Toph followed behind me and continued eating.

I smiled, "I guess I am a good cook."
