Sarawat hated Scrubb until he met Tine.

---

Sarawat wasn't exactly a fan of Scrubb. He thought they were too mainstream for his taste, preferring foreign, obscure indie bands to fill up his Spotify playlist. But his new friend Man wanted to go see the them perform near the Architecture building and Sarawat really was in no position to be passing up friends. He was lucky enough that someone mustered up enough courage to talk to him despite his resting bitch face.

"You don't have to come if you don't like them, Ai'Wat."

Sarawat offered a small smile. "It's okay. I should give them another try."

Man grinned and gave his shoulder a pat. "Alright! Let's go. I think their set is ending soon."

The two arrived just in time for the last two songs, Close and Deep, and even Sarawat had to admit that there was a certain likability to Scrubb's music, especially among people their age.

I don't know if it's because I haven't been in love, Sarawat thought, and that's why I don't like them as much as the next guy ---

And the next guy turned up liking the band a whole lot. Enough to jump up and down manically and almost bowl Sarawat over. The annoyance that quickly flitted through Sarawat's subconscious suddenly disappeared when he saw the other boy's face. He was very attractive, and he looked very happy listening to Scrubb play live.

"Sorry!" The guy said quickly, giving Sarawat a wai before facing forward and resuming jumping up and down.

When we're so close that I want to stop breathing.

Sarawat felt his heart skip a beat.

Present day...

"I have a confession to make."

Tine looked up curiously.

"I never used to like Scrubb."

Tine rolled his eyes and laughed at Sarawat's nervous expression.

"I know."

"Really?"

"You had to look at the lyrics to sing Close when you first played the guitar for me. I figured as much."

"Oh."

Tine grinned and gave Sarawat a knowing look. "Did you think I would get mad?"

Sarawat nodded, picking at his fingernails. "...yeah."

Tine snorted and gave Sarawat's cheek a kiss. Sarawat turned his head and pressed his lips against Tine's, opening his mouth and pressing his tongue against his boyfriend's. Tine let out a soft moan and let Sarawat push him down onto the bed, legs tangling together.

Sarawat leaned back and smiled dopily. "Don't be mad."

"I'm not!" Tine protested. "I like that you like them now. You do, right?"

"I do," Sarawat admitted, "Because of how the songs make you happy." They make me happy too.

"Such a sap." Tine pushed up on his elbows and gave Sarwat a small peck on the lips. "Come on, let's have dinner. Type is coming over and wants to meet you and your friends."

"Will Man finally get his man?"

Tine shook his head. "He has to go through me first."
