"Hey watch where ya' going short-stop!" Some ignorant dick yelled out at the Raven haired highschooler as he collided with him in the midst of the hallway.
Even though it was definitely the other guy's fault- Castiel was the one getting yelled out. He just rolled his eyes, bending down to pick up his anatomy book and straightening the black framed glasses on his face.
"Asshole..." The 17 year old muttered under his breath as the other guy zoomed to his other class.
What Cas always found funny was that people like that were always people younger, usually sophomores since freshmen tend to know their place and juniors just don't care enough to cause problems. Not to say other seniors weren't annoying- because God knows they were.
Castiel shook his head and made his way (miserably) to his last class of the day- physical education. Oh boy was this a well hated class, especially since the teacher was always gone and everyone knew he was banging the librarian despite the fact both of them were married. But that's besides the point.
The reason why it was so bad was because the coach always put the football jocks as substitute teachers, today was the infamous Dean Winchester. He was absolutely gorgeous. Like seriously drop dead beautiful. He had a perfect shaped face, the greenest eyes Castiel had ever seen, a perfect form, and this voice that just seemed to be laced with sweet honey and Kansas accent.
All that beauty was covered up by how annoying he was unfortunately. He was so into football and all the girls drooled over him. He was like the poster child for one night stands. Wouldn't surprise Cas if Dean hadn't gotten a girl pregnant by now as much as he sleeps around- or that he hasn't caught something AJax won't fix.
Surprisingly, Back in elementary school, Castiel Novak and Dean Winchester had been inseparable. Even though at the time Cas didn't go to public school, Dean still lived next door and the boys played together every single day. It didn't matter if it was freezing or over a hundred degrees- rain or snow- day or night- it didn't matter, those two always seemed to be together any second they could be. The friendship started when the two of them were five and continued until Dean was about to be twelve and Cas was turning ten.
They had a taking out over something stupid, they and gotten into a actual fist fight over some toy and Dean's father told Castiel to stay away from his son. Dean always thought it was because of the fight but that wasn't it at all. Castiel was queer and John knew that. Last thing a big bad ex-Marine wanted was his son to have a gay best friend.
Castiel just never had gotten around to telling Dean that was why since after that his own dad passed away and since Castiel didn't have a mother, he had to float around in foster care for a while before being placed in a home in California for six years and then he was moved back to Kansas, which is where he was now.
Now he had to spend his senior year of high school with Dean, who wasn't even the Dean Cas knew. This guy was so hot and so popular- the dean Winchester Castiel had known was so humble and wasn't the prettiest boy in town. Not that it had ever mattered to Cas, he thought Dean was beautiful, just in a different way.
Dean had always been so kind and funny... That's what had made him beautiful. The sound of the bell ringing made Cas break out of his trance and he raced to the locker room. His shorts were to tight and hugged his waste, yet his shirt was too big and flailed around as he ran.
He should have already been dressed by now but for some reason he was just so damn caught up in his thoughts again he blanked out. He was alone in the locker room and undressed quickly, getting back into his normal school cloths, a baggy sweater and a pair of black skinny jeans that had tears at the knees. His shoes were black and white Vans, the whites of the checkered part had been stained with wear since he had had them for about two years now.
Balthazar met Cas in the hall and the two headed outside, the British boy was rambling his head off about some party that was going to be extremely awesome and cool or whatever. Cas wasn't really listening until he heard his friend say
"And I already told them you'd be there-"
"You what?!" Cas turned, his face drained white. He hated parties.
So many people. So many people who didn't LIKE Cas. Balthazar laughed
"don't worry I've got your back" he said with a very NOT reassuring smile. A few hours after dark it was almost six. Since it was November the days were getting shorter and shorter, a thin layer of snow covered the green grass that once glowed in the bright summer heat. Castiel didn't mind the cold, he loved it actually. It was just calm, and plus many people weren't out these days. His eyes drifted to the vapor fogging the air as he breathed while he walked the dimly lit path to this party house, he was still wearing his outfit from earlier because it was warm and comfy and he certainly didn't care that his Raven hair was a hot mess.
He finally arrived at the house and was met at the door by Balthazar before he could say anything, do anything, or even be scared, a drink was shoved in his hand and he was sat in a circle of people. "There we go! I gotta 'nother player boys and gals!"
