Chapter 14: Second Ability

"I'm surprised to see you here, your excellency," Jungkook said with his head down.

"I was just watching this little cardinal use her power. We went over what you can and cannot do with this and I came to say that these actions are alright. You won't slit his throat correct?" he asked.

"Yessir, I was only bluffing. I would never hurt a human as it is our duty to protect their souls." I said.

"Good girl. Now rise you two. I have a message." he said handing 7 letters.

"There is one for each of you. Maybe if you get your final member of the squad, they can come too," he said and disappeared through his door. Jungkook and I didn't bother to wait to read it with the others.

"The Grim Gala?" we said together.

"This is new," Jungkook commented.

"We better head back, plus we gotta meet everyone at 2:00 to begin training," I said. 

Jungkook nodded as we jumped through the portal together.

Everyone was gathered in the training room. Namjoon and Jungkook stood in front of us while Jin and Hoseok were listening to what Namjoon had to say.

"As you all know you have a Primary power. Hoseok can read people's emotions, Taehyung can read through people's BS, you get my point."

"Hyung, what is your ability?" Tae raised his hand.

"Strong IQ" Jungkook points to Namjoon's head.

"Thanks, Jk, but no. Can predict someone's moves in the next 3 seconds. If it's activated of course." He chuckled.

"Yeah, and Jungkook is super fast!" Hoseok explained.

"ANYWAYS! Secondary powers are very important." Jin said as he brought us back on the topic.

"Thanks, Jin. These secondary powers are used in times of danger. These are times when you may come across a demon stealing a soul. If a demon is successful taking a soul, it'll make them stronger and with enough souls, they can be reborn with their powers. Nasty things demons are." Namjoon explained.

"It's our job to send the souls off and protect them. Demons are violent creatures that won't hesitate to attack Grim or even Angels. Now we shall discover your powers." Jungkook's body morphed into his half form and his silver feathers began to show. This is what Taehyung and I saw when Namjoon and Jungkook were dueling.

"Trust me on this," Jungkook said. He shot the silver feathers at us. I came down in pain as I was surprised that the feather was now metal and it grazed my arm. Jimin was hit in the leg and Tae was hit in the shoulder. Poor Jimin, he had to remove it like a thorn.

"Did you have to stab us?" Jimin said as he released the metal feather.

"Yes, turn into your half forms. This is the form we use in combat." Namjoon explained. Everyone changed. Tae's feathers were down to the ground, but as he fanned out his peacock feathers, they became gold and shimmery.

"Ah, so you have the same ability as me." Jungkook nudged Taehyung on the shoulder.

"There are different types of secondary. For example, there is elemental, feather manipulation, adaptability, and transformation. It's uncommon to have a mix of multiple powers."

"Nothings happening to me," I commented

"Same here." Jimin pouted.

Jin carried a box with 4 different compartments, and Hoseok held another one that looked the same.
