Chapter 25: Healing

I stayed in my room holding on tight to my stuffed animal. There was a knock on the door. It was Hoseok and Jin.

"Hey f/n how are you feeling." Hoseok wheeled in a tray of food.

"Are you still in pain?"Jin asked.

"No" I said

"You're lying, your mood really shifted," Hoseok said

"Damn mood ring powers." I laughed.

"You don't have to hide your pain, I have powers to speed up the healing. We need to get everyone ready for battle." Jin said.

"I know it's just, the spot where it's painful is awkward."

"How so?" 

"Umm." I pointed down.

"Ooohhh...right. I am sorry that you had to deal with that. I can make it less sore, but I don't want to touch you there to cause discomfort. I can do it from a distance, we'll just be here longer." Jin explained.

"Right, thank you." His hand began to glow and so were all the awkward spots where the pain was located.

Jungkook walked in with coffee. "Can someone explain why her tits and crotch are glowing." He tried to lighten the mood.

"DON'T LOOK YOU PERVERT" Hoseok yells

"IT'S HARD TO DO THAT WHEN SHE CAN BASICALLY GLOW IN THE DARK!"

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP AND FUCK OFF I NEED TO FOCUS" Jin cursed. My eyes widened at Jin's temper. Hoseok and Jungkook went silent and left. I've never seen Jin curse or yell like that.

"Jin what's wrong?" I asked

"Sorry, I was on edge, makes healing slower with chaotic energy like that."

"I see."

"What did he do to you exactly?" Jin asked

"He treated me the same way the man was going to treat the woman before he accidentally killed her if that is what happened. I saved a woman, and I have no regrets about my decision. Death was really flirty with me since he kept pulling me in to talk. He then treated me better and as much as I hate to say it...he's good at sex, minus my punishment for keeping Amanda alive." I grinned weakly to myself

The room was quiet as he was healing me

"How long?" he askes

"Huh?"

"How long have you been Death's successor? How long have you been hiding things from us."

"I was scared that if I messed up in this world too, I'd be more ashamed of myself than I already was. I always wish I was alive again deep down. I hid things with no bad intentions, he was just so secretive about things. I wanted to be honest, that's how I was able to open up to everyone. They all opened up to me too." I said.

"I guess I never really had a chance to tell my story" He laughed.

"How did it happen?"

"My parents forced me to become a doctor. I didn't dare argue cause I would get the belt if I did. I hated it when I was alive, now it is my purpose to heal. I have come to love it. But human technology and school made it miserable. I was successful. Hell, I even got married." he laughed.

"What made you do it then?"

"I got really sick and had to take pain killers. I found myself getting addicted to the drugs I was taking. Since I had hold of more medicine, I got more into drugs. There was one time I took pills before surgery, but they were the wrong ones. They made me woozy and I ended up killing the patient cause of my drug addiction. Then I was charged with third-degree murder. I went to prison, I never came back out. I attacked a cop and shot myself." Jin confessed.

"Holy shit."

"Yup. In a weird way...I like this better. I am okay with this way of living...well we aren't really living are we." He laughed.

"You know..even though things are super shitty, they aren't always terrible. I may fear of fading away one day, I may have never expected to lose my virginity when I died, I never expected the be in this much pain. But...I've made a new family that loves me. Thank you for saving me" I said

"Now you got me all emotional" Jin tried not to cry.

"I think the pain is gone now," I said. Jin's hands relaxed

"I want to let you know, that Grim doesn't fade unless they have done something bad. I had a suspicion of Death for a while." Jin said.

"Wait really? How?"

"I was his first successor. I declined, I thought there would be someone better. I honestly think that is you." Jin said

"Really? Thank you...but suspicious for what? Could this be related to Taehyung?" I asked

"Before Taehyung, I caught him sneaking around. I am not sure what his goal was, but he did see Life a lot. They don't see each other unless they really need to. Before the attacks started, he started to see her a lot. Now I am not sure if this has anything to do with the attacks, but we'll find out what is going to be on that Island. We need to get ready, so let's train and rest up." Jin finished and patted my shoulder.
