Chapter 15: Night Shift

It's been 3 days of intense training. We were ready to shadow for the night shift, except for Jimin.

He was mastering his water abilities along with his primary.

"Getting the hang of it?" Jin asked. Jimin nodded. He was able to send waves of sound to launch the water, but only a couple inches.

"Jimin you really need to rest, after what's been happening to you," Jungkook suggested as he was gearing up.

"The whole time I've been here, all I've been doing is sitting back and healing. I've always been watching. I am done being weak, and I am using this so I don't have to take breaks."

"That's very courageous of you. But look at me, seriously. I have super speed and piercing feathers. Look at these muscles. I still need to take breaks." Jungkook was pointing to his thighs and arms.

"He's got a point, as the leader I am asking you to relax for at least an hour or two," Namjoon explains.

"I just can't get things down, unless you think life can come down and help me which i highly doubt!" he complained. Then I thought about it.

"Omo, I completely forgot to give you guys these!" I reach from the magical bag I had and pulled out the Gala invitations. I handed one to each of them.

"Who gave you these?" Namjoon asked,

"This is death's stamp." Jin pointed out. Namjoon opened it up quickly and began to read it out loud.

On October 31, 20XX, I invite you to the first annual Grim Gala! I know it's odd of me to host such parties, but I insist to have such an event to gather the greatest Grim of all time. I'll be sending you a package of dress attire as this is a serious event. A portal will open at your base the day the event will take place.

"No way," Jungkook said

"We are gonna meet Life?" Hoseok said excitingly

"This is crazy." Namjoon rubbed his head.

"How common is it to speak to angles?" I asked.

"For our position, never," Namjoon said

"It's been a long day of work and I am tired. I'll be hitting the sack. Good luck!!!" Hobi smiled

"Same here." Jin nodded. Jimin went to have some tea and I finished gearing up with the clothing that was given to me. Instead of the white and grey outfit, I wore for the day shift, this outfit was Black and lined with silver thread and other designs. It made my red feathers stand out. Taehyung had similar clothing to me, but he had some royal blue on his gear.

"Taehyung why are you wearing jewelry?" Namjoon asked.

"If I'm gonna be killing demons I gotta be looking fly as fu-"

"HAHAHAHAHAH THAT'S THE BEST THING YOU'VE SAID TODAY!" Jungkook laughed. Namjoon tried to be serious and hide his giggle.

"Gather around, team. There are some things you must know about the night shift. You will be doing your Grim tasks as you normally do. This time you must never keep your guard down. We have each others backs. Last time, we were swarmed. Demons take form into land animals. They are commonly goats or any other creature with horns. Like grim, they have a primary and secondary ability. They all share the same primary ability to take souls to feed on. Their secondary power can be anything. You'll know a demon when you see it." Taehyung and I nod as we listen.
