Prologue
The sun wasn't even shining that tragic day he broke my heart. Everything inside me seemed to go cold, then turned into such rage that I couldn't hold any of it in. Even though I didn't know it then, that moment would ruin what we had... forever...
Chapter 1: A nod? Really?
"AHHHHHHH!!!" Adam screamed as he ran down the hallway, embracing me with a warm hug.
"Can't.... breathe.... let.... go!" I managed to choke out.
"Haha, oops." He said laughing. "I missed you over the summer! Oh my gosh! We never hung out! And if you think it's gonna be like that over Winter Break? Think again, sister!" We both laughed. Adam was about as tall as me with shaggy black hair that everyone loved. He was like my brother even though he was in the grade above mine.
"So," I asked. " How's Vladimire? Ugh, I just can't believe how CUTE he is! He's like the Prince Charming to my fairytale story..." I sighed, deep in thought about THE hottest guy in school. You may think I'm joking, but wait 'til you see his face! Brown eyes, brown hair... The perfect face with dimples when he laughed. Oh, his laugh! It's like a million tiny birds singing in perfect harmony.
"Umm... I'm still here you know?!"
"What? Yeah.. Pshh... I know... So ya, how was his summer?" I forgot Adam was even there I was too busy day-dreaming about his best friend.
"Well why don't you ask him that yourself?" He said pointing down the hallway in front of us. I looked around until I saw him. There he was, surrounded by his little group of friends.
"OMG, Adam, how do I look? Do I look good? Fine? Amazing?"
"You look fi-" He tried to reply, but I cut him off.
"Pretend like we're talking about something important!" I demanded.
"Ugh, Emma, seriously? You're ridiculous sometimes..." He said, walking away.
"No, wait don't! Hey, Vladimire..." I said, feeling like an idiot. I was standing there all by myself. Oh, he must think I have no friends. A loser. Ugh, I hate Adam for leaving me there all by myself. "Pheww!" I let out a breath I'd been holding after he was out of hearing range. All I got was a nod. Just one of those stupid "sup" things guys do... So annoying...
The strange thing is... even though I may seem totally obsessed over Vladimire, (pshhh noo) I don't even know him. He's not even my friend. We never talk. He's in the grade above mine, and he's also on the Varsity football team. So stereotype, am I right? I just couldn't help myself. He's gorgeous.
