Chapter 4: Secrets
My eyes wandered around the crowds of people, trying to look for Vladimire without getting noticed. Adam hadn't tried talking to me that day. I guess he was trying to get the guts to... I was wondering if I should tell Nicki about the kiss... probably not... If she found out that I hadn't told her right away then she would kill me for not letting her be there for my first kiss - YES I did say FIRST kiss, but then again... if I did tell her... she would hate me for kissing him.
"You still comin' to the gazebo with me today?" Vladimire asked. He'd come up behind me and whispered in my ear. It sent tingles up my neck.
"Of course." I smiled and looked up at him. He was taller than me, by like, a lot, so I had to look up to talk to him. It was hard to resist running my hand through his deep brown hair. We were only friends... for now...
"Well come on, let's go!" He said pulling me along by the arm.
The air outside the doors of the school was so fresh. I breathed it in slowly, trying to get the smell of all the flowers in. I loved the outdoors, and going on walks was my favorite... especially with guys... preferably Vladimire.
"So..." He said.
"So..." I repeated.
"Tell me about yourself."
"Whats do you want to know?" I asked.
"Umm... Favorite color?"
"Pink.. on occasions green... maybe even, like, a neon purple. Yours?"
"Hmm... Well I like blue... and green... Favorite... animal?"
"Why do you want to know all this boring stuff? It's not like this is special information you need to hear..." I asked. I mean PUH-lease, who wants to know this?
"I don't know... I'm just trying to get to know you better..." He said, sounding a little bit hurt. He felt the same way about getting to know each other better! I took this as a go for it.
"So.. who's your best friend?" I asked nonchalantly.
"I think you and I both know it's Adam." He replied oh-so-sure of himself. He was definitely flirting I could tell.
"Well, then who do you like?" The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them, but since we were friends now... wouldn't he tell me?
"Hmm... well I'm gonna have to think about that one..." He said with a grin. He considered it for a minute, then replied saying it was a secret. Of course.
"If you tell me yours.. I'll tell you mine." I made a deal with him. One I wasn't sure I could carry through with. His face flushed a bright red color.
"I don't want to say..."
"Come on, it's just one name. It's not like the whole world's gonna explode." I replied.
"It might."
"PUH-lease. Just say it."
"Ok, fine." He turned away from me, but continued walking. He used to be walking backwards so he could look at me, but now he was too embarrassed. The gazebo was still a couple minutes away.
"Well?" I asked, growing more interested. He mumbled something under his breath. "What?" He said it a little louder. I crossed my arms and stopped walking.
"It's YOU, OK? Are you happy? You know maybe we should do this some other day..." He started walking in the other direction, but I took his arm and linked mine through it, he turned around and continued in the gazebo's direction.
"It's ok, Vladimire... I like you too." I assured him with a smile.
